The manager and staff are so friendly. We had lunch one day and enjoyed it so much we went back the next day and were welcomed like old friends. The menu is varied but every dish we had in the two meals was very well described and cooked. We are so impressed we will go back there the next time... More

The address on the Trip Advisor site is wrong as the restaurant moved recently to Rua da Correeiros, just around the corner. The food is excellent and the atmosphere was great. In a road full of other (empty) restaurants there was a waiting queue to get a table at lunchtime on a cold January day. The service was first class... More

We were looking for a nice and cozy place to lunch, escaping all the touristy restaurants around with the waiters harassing us and we found this beautiful place. Many locals inside, we ate fish and it was super fresh! The price is average considering it was fish. One fish dish, a glass of wine, coffee and dessert around 15€ .... More

Had some lovely seafood just before they closed up. Be warned if you go late that lots of the daily specials will have gone! The pepper and potato tortilla was lovely as a starter and only €3.50 . The tuna for mains was beautifully cooked. Lovely chocolate cake to finish too. Excellent house red. €8 litre!

Definitely try the potato and egg dish. It is to die for. The house wine is also pretty good. And pastas were excellent

Within minutes of sitting down our attentive (but not too much) waitress had served us water, presented the platter with the catch of the day, served us bread, oil and some soft sheep's cheese that was delicious. The main course; my wife wanted lamb but they had run out so she went with the waitress recommendation and had the pork... More

Simple, short menu, fresh ingredients, imaginative, very well executed. Fairly priced. Highly recommended.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
