Food, service and decor was all excellent in this place - I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. We were on our way to Club de journalistas and happened upon this place and ended up going here instead. I'm glad we did, as it was my favourite meal in Lisbon!

You don't make a reservation and you don't stay long. But the time that you actually do stay is worth it. Realy good tapas style dishes that you share. The waiters are very friendly and the whole atmosphere of the place makes you feel at home. And you won't spend much money.

this is a rather pricey restaurant. food is OK... but nothing spectacular. portions were rather small. service and atmosphere are excellent. the most ridiculous thing was: we were charged almost €2 (!) for "ordering" two glasses of tap water, which is the main reason to stay away from this place and never come back. a restaurant that doesn't respect its... This restaurant has perfect size dishes. I loved the octopus stew, and other dishes looked good but i did not get to try. I did not like the ´pate´ which you will be charge 3.50 Euros for if you touch it. The soup of the day was some egg poached in vinegary clear broth with some cilantro, very weird and... More

The concept here is the typical Portuguese "Petiscos" (small portions), the atmosphere is great, with a very typical decor and very cosy with long tables, except is to noisy sometimes. The staff are nice. I tasted Octopus, Aubergine with cheese and "Prego" is a like a slice of veal in bread. All of them were very good. I think is a... More

Very creative way to serve Portuguese food - delicious, and service was fantastic. We liked it so much, we went back again before leaving Lisbon!

We were referred to this small restaurant on a small street near the French Embassy near the Janelas Verdes area..A small eclectic restaurant simply decorated but do not let this fool you.. Petiscaria Ideal specializes in a Portuguese twist on Tapas. Basing there dishes on some famous traditional Portuguese dishes with modern twists and additions. We shared one starter type... More

We came here after having dinner at its sister restaurant, "Taberna Ideal" (same owner) a few nights earlier and were not as pleased with the food. The "tapas" are a bit small for the price. I understand that tapas are small, but they are usually priced lower as well, bc of the size. These tapas were each around 10 Euro!... More

Visiting in Lisbon for couple of days for business, my Portuguese friend took me last night to Petiscaria Ideal. This is a small and packed place, non-formal, with a family ambiance atmosphere. The theme of the place is "sharing" (like the Spanish Tapas Bars) -- you share a table with other people, you share the plates with your friends. So... More
