Favourite meal in Lisbon

A great place for dinner, off the beaten track. A great array of tapas dishes - the octopus was absolutely delicious, as was the goat's cheese in honey and rosemary. We booked a table for a Tuesday but a pipe problem in the kitchen meant the restaurant couldn't open. However, the restaurant... read more

Popped in with our three kids, luckily early enough for a table. Great food, and reasonable to boot! Friendly owner serving and advising, helping every step of the way. Quaint, but foodies without pretense will enjoy. Winos, list will be too thin for the serious, but drinkable douro is available.

What a find! Tiny restaurant. Very friendly staff. Had a variety of tapas-style dishes - all were excellent, in partcular the pork cheek fried in flour, and the octopus. Top notch quality cooking. We'll be back.

Good food but nothing that special as the other reviews make you expect. It's easy to find similar quality with cheaper prices. It's still a good choice if you are in the area and want to try several portuguese dishes. Good for tourists, average for locals. Really friendly!

We arrived early and found an almost empty place. Within minutes the small room was full. We were amazed at the gorgeous food brought out to us in the form of tapas. So much choice, variety and tastes, especially the goats cheese dish with honey and the spicy beef with sweet potato chips. Thank you for a most delicious evening.

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. That is despite it consisting of about 5 tables in what seems like a converted living room. The waitress, and I assume proprietor, was fantastic and spoke excellent english. The food was served as it became ready and therefore came out piecemeal. The wine, despite costing less per glass... I did a trip around Europe, and this restaurant made me feel at home. Definitely a place you want to go if you want cheap food, and excellent quality with a dash of home-made food. Definitely worth it if you're in Lisbon.

It was suggested to me by a friend, and i went with my brother, also told me to try the picapao which was one of the most amazing dishes i have ever had. If anyone has to go there you must try it , you will not regret it , and on top of all , it was cheap making... More

I wanted to like Cantinho Lusitano because the waitress was so nice and the prices were so reasonable. My mom and I split four tapas which was plenty for the two of us. They were all good, but nothing special (so I wouldn't say this place was "average" but it wasn't quite "very good"). The service and the prices were... More
