This is a great centrally located cafe where you can try high quality traditional Portuguese pastries )if you don't have time to go to Belem to try the famous pasteis the Belem, here you can find a very good counterpart). The service was very friendly and the prices affordable.

nice place for a quick stop: good coffee, variety of desserts and some meal (salads, soup, toasts with fish). And a lot of things to buy as presents.

I feel wonderful whenever I walk into Nacional. The beautiful old cafe seems unchanged from last century and the desserts are divine. Hot chocolate, custard tarts, eclairs and mousse are always on the top of our list. Terrific place to go in Lisbon.

I guess there's no portuguese pastry the don't have. It's in the middle of Baixa, very touristy. You have your pastry take away on ground floor or go up to the nice antique saloon and have it there (with table service or note). If I may suggest, have a guardanapo (napkin, in portugues), which is a pão-de-ló square folded with... More

I went there for a second visit on my birthday, because I thought I just had to have had bad luck the first time with it being so famous and all... Well I can tell you that it is simply overrated, the cakes have little taste and the service is slow! The only nice thing about it is the building... More

This beautiful tea rooms is well worth a visit with it's olde world set-up. There is self service or table service available and the pastries / confectionary are supreme. The staff are very helpful and it is very busy which makes it a most enjoyable tea-room.

I was looking for a pastry to snack on and came to find this wonderful shop. It had such old world charm and the aroma of all the freshly baked goods was amazing. The staff were exteremly helpful and friendly. The gentleman behind the counter only spoke Portuguese and very little English, I only speak English and some Spanish, together... More

Beautiful 1800s pastry bakery with tasty pastries. Losts of people coming in for a quick coffee with pastry to have them standing in the shop. The interior is worth a visit and the pastries are good as well

This traditional bakery was very Victorian in appearance and had fun little sun-filled parlor areas to sit in on both floors. Sitting here felt like going back in time to the 19th century. The coffee machines looked very intricate and impressive, and so did the sweets. So many types of pastries, chocolates, cookies were available in dozens of assortments and... More
