Busy, noisy, chaotic and amazing!

We had previously walked past the restaurant at lunchtime and it was packed so ventured back in the evening. It was just as busy with a mixture of locals and tourists. The atmosphere is buzzing and chaotic. Don't be afraid to flag a waiter down if you want to get served! We ordered the clams and... read more

We recognised the place from a distance because of the queue. Six of us ate here tonight. Five of us had grilled chicken and one had salmon. All thought their meal was great. It is a lively place and you get to sit at communal tables - rubbing shoulders with the locals. Singles and couples can eat at the long... More

Rubbing shoulders with the locals in what was obviously a very Portuguese place to eat was an honor. The fish curry was great eaten among great friends. Could not have asked for more. From olives at the bar to "selfies" with the waiter at the table...I think we ticked every palatable box here! Thanks Casa Da India!

If you are looking for a local atmosphere where tables are on top of each other and bright lights abound this is the place. After a bad experience the night before we were recommended to try Casa da India. It was on one of the main roads in Bairro Alta and there were queues to get in the whole time... More

This little gem was recommended by a shop we went to. Filled with locals, we had to wait for a table even early in the evening. The manager was a nice, friendly and very welcoming Maestro of the restaurant. We shared a long table with another family, no worries with that. The aroma and buzz gave it great energy. We... More

Bustling with locals it's easy for a solo traveler to blend in at the bar. Chicken was delicious and had great prices!

We were attracted by the bustle of the place and the man grilling chickens in the window. This is cheap, solid, unpretentious food that tastes really, really good. We ordered a chicken to share and it came with fries and some excellent rice. We sat at the bar and watched the staff teasing one another and laughing - always good... More

If you have come to see the real Lisbon, then when you come to this place, you have arrived! Yes, it is crowded and you will have to find a place next to someone, depending on the time of day. You will be treated to good and decent portions with a tasty meal for a decent price. There is a... More

This restaurant is great and price is reasonable price. For seafood rise is 7.50 EUR and a whole grill chicken is 12.00 EUR if you want only half chicken is 6.50 EUR. This restaurant is king of grill. It is good to eat lunch and crowed of people with dinner. I went for lunch and dinner.
