Good and noisy

If you are downtown Lisbon and want to have lunch/dinner in a real portuguese restaurant, it's the choise. Good food at a nice price.

I came to Casa da Índia after suggestion of a friend who was living in Lisbon for one year. I must stress the fact that I already know portuguese food so I am quite able to recognise good food. We were in 3 and we ordered caldo verde (typical portuguese soup) a portion of sardinhas to share and 3 picanhas.... More

We had incredible chicken and fish at this place. It looks like a canteen and is very rustic and unpretentious, but it was tastier than the Michelin starred dinner we had the night before and the price just made it extra tasty! We paid €30 for two main courses, salad, beer and wine. Very very satisfied. I'd definitely go back... More

I went here as the reviews said the food was delicious and inexpensive. I waited in line for a bit until a seat at the bar opened up. I ordered the Portuguese style soup for 2.5 euro and it was a bland soup that was not special. I ordered the grilled cuttlefish for 9.5 euro and it was burnt and... More

Casa da India is a very popular restaurant in the Bairro alto/ Chiado are of Lisbon. When passing by on a Saturday evening for example there is usually a long line of people waiting for a table outside. Given this high popularity we went to Casa da India for dinner yesterday and I can confidently say that this was the... More

Our local guide recommended this place for our first night in Lisbon. We had to stand in line for about 20 mins but it was definitely worth the wait. A lot of different options on the menu (meat, fish, chicken), the food was great and the staff helpful and friendly even though they had a lot to do. We're definitely... More

So glad I didn't walk past as the first look I thought too basic/maybe too authentic for me but I got over myself and went on in. Sat at the counter and was treated exceptionally well by the wonderful staff whom I reckon r too busy working and having fun to give a dang about any reviews. Full of locals... More

We went here on our last night in Lisbon and loved it. We had to wait a good 20 minutes for a table but that's generally a good sign. It was insanely busy with only 2 wait staff but they were really patient, calm, friendly and in good spirits. We got a table and ordered based on recommendations by the... More
