Nice little restaurant tucked away in a place you wouldn't find. The food was good, not brilliant. Very good choice of wines. But what made the evening was the fado - there were four singers who did four short spells starting from 9.30 and each one was amazing.

Visit Lisbon and not see fado is the same as not going to Lisbon. This is one of the most well known fado restaurant in the city. The best singers perform there. The service is excelent, the food is good, but a litle overpriced, once we also pay a fee for the show. Anyway, it is really a great experience... More

We were told by our local tour guide that Sr. Vinho's was one of the best places in Lisbon to experience authentic Fado. We were not disappointed! There is a cover charge of $13.00 Euro but we would assume this helps pay the entertainers. We did not have high expectations when it came to the food simply because we wanted... More

The fado experience is a must when in Lisbon, but tourist traps abound. This is one of the best options to have the real experience, surrounded (mostly) by local people. Some of the best fado singers started their careers here. Food is Ok, service excellent, and the singers among the best in Lisbon. It is a very small place, reservations... More

The staff was friendly, the fado show good, but the food was extremely overpriced and nothing special. I don't mind paying for food, but it better be worth it. It wasn't. they also try to charge for bread and olives - 13.50 euros per person! Watch out for that if you go! It's a shame. The food ended up making... More

We recently visited this restaurant and were certainly not disappointed. When we arrived, we were welcomed by a gentleman who wasn't overly friendly. In fact, the only one smiling at this place was a lady who was also taking down orders and serving the food. We were seated at a very small table in a not too big restaurant, which... More

I listened to some wonderful, authentic fado performances- the main reason for going to this restaurant. Of course there are some tourists, as in any good fado place, but this is not 'touristy fado'! The food was acceptable, pricey if you ignore the music. But once you recognise that one is paying for an intimate, high quality fado recital, as... More

Being a fado aficionado I went to Sr. Vinho with great expectations, having heard so much about it. Service is very polite and efficient, no complaints at all. The food is pricey as in most fado places, its quality rather mediocre. But you think hey, the musicians have to be paid too. Sharing meals is not permitted, by the way.... More

Sr. Vinho offers a quality Fado experience, but it comes at a price. Well away from the city centre near the Lapa Palace, we felt it was a bit too formal to make for a truly relaxing evening out. As others have noted the fado is performed in several separate short sets - which makes for a very fragmented eating... More

We visited Sr Vinho in June with a large group of around 60 people as part of a conference dinner. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves and the place was really packed. That was OK though as it added to the lively atmosphere. The food was mediocre and given the size of our group several menus had been pre-ordered.... More
