Description: Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the...
Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the Bairro Alto, just a few meters away from Chiado, you find in this Wine House a committed team in a relaxed, family atmosphere, accompanied by live music that animates every night. Between the passion for wines of Antonio Baeta and the passion for cuisine of Silvia Mendes, we get the alchemical mixture of two key ingredients that make the success of this house. On the one hand, more than 1000 national references between white, red, green, sparkling and fortified wine, where the vast majority can be tasted by glass, or even taken home bottled, on the other hand, a continuous search for the best Portuguese delicacies turned into simple dishes, but with great flavor, from cheese and sausages boards with homemade jams, to mussels or scallops gratinated, seared canned tuna, or even cod or octopus in the oven. Upstairs this XVIII century building, fully redone, you can find a room for the night in a cozy environment. Six bedrooms, some with private bathroom, a mixed dormitory, a common living room, a common kitchen where breakfasts are served or where you can cook your own food and an outdoor patio, make of this Hostel a selected place for those who like to enjoy the night of Bairro Alto, and want to stick around. Enjoy every moment of the two spaces in a relaxed way and with quality. Wine House Open every day from 12h00 to 24h00.

An excellent evening out

Visited in April 2015. Sampled their mixed meat and cheese platter with various samplings of wines. The staff were attentive and helpful in making wine choices. An added bonus was some very good live music.

We ended a walking tour of Lisbon here for food and wine. We were expecting a few bites and a couple of tastes of Port wine. What we got amounted to a five course tasting menu with great wine and great explanation about the wine. It culminated with Vintage Port and slicing of the Iberian ham. It was our best... More

Absolutely love this place. Stopped by on a business trip 6 months ago and again today. Quality all around. Staff, drinks and staff are all excellent. Only four due to cramp feeling when pack, but well worth it. Will be here again next trip to Lisboa.

wonderful place with great atmosphere, nice reception and an awful lot of good wines. Always busy but while you are waiting to get usually a small glass of good drink in! The food is good and well prepared. If you live in the hotel they have, you get 20% discount on food - generous. Would highly recommend

The restaurant is very nice. When we were there, there was an excellent brasilian singer. The wines are excellent. The place is pretty small but it gives a unique charm. But the prices are pretty high for Portugal

Magnificent tapas with a perfect wine combination. The meal was delicious. The location was central and live music with guitar was very enjoying. Must be visited.

On a quiet street this place is well worth a visit. It is walled with wines and has simple wooden chairs. It offers an impressive number of options. We asked the waitress for recommendations for each glass of wine, she took the time to listen to our preferences and budget. Each glass was great. There are literally hundreds to choose... More
