Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the Bairro Alto, just a few meters away from Chiado, you find in this Wine House a committed team in a relaxed, family atmosphere, accompanied by live music that animates every night. Between the passion for wines of Antonio Baeta and the passion for cuisine of Silvia Mendes, we get the alchemical mixture of two key ingredients that make the success of this house. On the one hand, more than 1000 national references between white, red, green, sparkling and fortified wine, where the vast majority can be tasted by glass, or even taken home bottled, on the other hand, a continuous search for the best Portuguese delicacies turned into simple dishes, but with great flavor, from cheese and sausages boards with homemade jams, to mussels or scallops gratinated, seared canned tuna, or even cod or octopus in the oven. Upstairs this XVIII century building, fully redone, you can find a room for the night in a cozy environment. Six bedrooms, some with private bathroom, a mixed dormitory, a common living room, a common kitchen where breakfasts are served or where you can cook your own food and an outdoor patio, make of this Hostel a selected place for those who like to enjoy the night of Bairro Alto, and want to stick around. Enjoy every moment of the two spaces in a relaxed way and with quality. Wine House Open every day from 12h00 to 24h00.

My wife and I were feeling like having a light meal yesterday evening, and this fit the bill perfectly. We didn't have a reservation, and it was nearly empty at about 6:30 PM when we arrived, but it filled up quickly thereafter. The service was (mostly) attentive and very good at giving advice on the copious wine choices, especially in... More

We came upon this restaurant whilst wandering the wonderful cobbled streets of Bairro Alto. It would not be easy to find accidentally but for an open window - the table in the window was occupied when we first passed by. The restaurant was cool with tile floor ,the decor was of old wood tables, ours was a converted huge wine... More

Grapes and Bites is a very nice restaurant overall but unfortunately it has become a victim of its own success. Good food and a massive wine menu. Somehow though, they are out of the wine that you order so they serve you sth ''similar'' (happened to us the other two tables next to us). Too loud, too many people, tables... More

This place is not for the little budget, however it was worth the extra cost. The music was fantastic and the wines and advice from the waiters was outstanding. The food was exceptional, fresh seafood tapis at its best.

Found this place via the TripAdvisor App, first attempt it was fully booked, but the ambiance looked great, so i booked a table for the next evening. We really enjoyed the tapas, you 'll find here a totally different choice than the classic ones you may know from Spain. Some are small, some are really big, so ask for guidance... More

This place had a huge selection of incredible Portugese wine, Ports, meat, cheese and small tapas like dishes. The staff are clearly expert and interested in the food and wine they serve. We had a cheese and meat tasting with Port and it was incredible!

Came across this place on Trip Advisor and wasn't disappointed. Be sure to come here if you are stuck for ideas and want to enjoy modern tapas in a comfortable environment. The staff are very friendly and were on-hand to give meal and wine recommendations.
