Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the Bairro Alto, just a few meters away from Chiado, you find in this Wine House a committed team in a relaxed, family atmosphere, accompanied by live music that animates every night. Between the passion for wines of Antonio Baeta and the passion for cuisine of Silvia Mendes, we get the alchemical mixture of two key ingredients that make the success of this house. On the one hand, more than 1000 national references between white, red, green, sparkling and fortified wine, where the vast majority can be tasted by glass, or even taken home bottled, on the other hand, a continuous search for the best Portuguese delicacies turned into simple dishes, but with great flavor, from cheese and sausages boards with homemade jams, to mussels or scallops gratinated, seared canned tuna, or even cod or octopus in the oven. Upstairs this XVIII century building, fully redone, you can find a room for the night in a cozy environment. Six bedrooms, some with private bathroom, a mixed dormitory, a common living room, a common kitchen where breakfasts are served or where you can cook your own food and an outdoor patio, make of this Hostel a selected place for those who like to enjoy the night of Bairro Alto, and want to stick around. Enjoy every moment of the two spaces in a relaxed way and with quality. Wine House Open every day from 12h00 to 24h00.

LOVED this place, we spent 3 hours in here following a great recommendation for wine, a sparkling wine made from red and white grapes called Lagoalva. Washed down with some chorizo and chicken sausage this wine was so nice we ordered another bottle. The singer was fabulous and created a lovely atmosphere with his covers of everything from The Doors,... More

Visited on a Saturday night in Jan 2016 & was shown to a table straight away. Food selection good & service excellent. Petiscos (tapas) from €5-15 & a decent bottle of wine from €15. Food quality & service also very good. Well recommended.

The waitress was the best. There was a singer with his guitar, the best wine restaurant I've seen in Lisbon. The cheese plate and the local wine is superb won't regret it.

Its not only the delicious Portuguese food and wine that make this place a superb decision. Rather the live music, the friendly staff & the atmosphere make this restaurant a perfect choice for dinner. Completely enjoyed the evening and will definitely go there again!

Really liked the modern informal atmosphere. The Portugese are by far the most friendly and open minded people in the south of Europe and you can experience that here. The wines are among the best in Europe and you can taste a lot of them here. The food is pure and delicious as lunch or as diner. I Am sure... More

Grapes and bites was one of the highlights of our trip to the beautiful City of Lisbon. We tried to get in for our first night to no avail due the restaurant being really busy, and we can see why. The ambiance is spot on and throughout the evening there was a very talented Acoustic guitarist covering an array of... More

I went to Lizbon last year, and this place is still in my mind as I had really great chance to try amazing wine offered by the owner who was very passionate about wine and food and was perfectly able to suggest what we could enjoy based our preferences. Really great experience!

By accident me and a friend found this awesome hostel in the beautiful part of Lisbon, called bairro alto. The girls working there were really helpful, and together with a lot of friendly backpackers the place delivers a great vibe. We got to know people from china, germany, france, portugal and austria, and the area has a lot of great... More

This place is stunning. The atmosphere is friendly. There is live music which is very relax to enjoy a good dinner. Also, the waiters were very nice with us. They recommended us a good wine for a medium price. The cold meat was deliceous. But, in my opinion the quantity in every dish was lacking.
