Afternoon Wine Bar Experience

Great wine (with consulting!) and wonderful fresh, local charcuterie and cheese. We loved it. Wanted to stop by for a quick snack and a glass of wine and ended up spending most of the afternoon.

We enjoyed the lunch at this area. Lots of different port wine for you to taste. The food is also quite good.

Fair busy Saturday evening so we're glad we'd booked in advance via email to the owner. Friendly and relaxed when we were there, had a green wine, red wine and a port to finish with a cheese and meat selection, just shy of €70 for two people. Wines range from €3-€10 per glass on average. At times during the visit... More

Learn about the wines of Portugal along with a small dish or simply wine. I discovered the vino verde--new wine fresh and crisp. We had a lovely and knowledgeable server. You get plenty of tastes and a large variety of wines to choose from. Just totally fun.

It's a nice cozy place with a huge wine selection and friendly staff. I went there only to try some port wines, but it was well worth it. Rui Costa (who was serving us) was really polite, friendly and most of all, a real pro when it came to port wines. He had us tasting a few different wines from... More

It was the last night of our holiday and we had a very long uphill walk to visit the bar. Having previously checked their opening hours we arrived at 8pm on a Monday evening. There were plenty of free tables but we were told they couldn't take any more customers as they were closing shortly. The web site said 10pm... More

Very nice place with accommodating hosts and excellent wine. Our lack of wine knowledge wasn't a problem as they were willing to spend time answering questions even though the place was busy.

A very nice and small place situated by the castle - in a small and cosy street. Be sure to book a table in advance. We were welcomed and when placed at a nice table asked to try out 3 different wines to choose from. That was difficult, so we choose two of them :) The staff was very friendly... More
