Description: This new wine bar tucked away on a quiet street in Belem is an oasis for anyone wanted to get away from the crowds and wanting to take a break from tons of Portuguese food. Impressive wine list, light tapas style menu and impeccable service make this a great stop during your visit to Belem. It is run by Nelson and Angelo who are very knowledgeable about the wines and may even give you a brief tour of the development going on up the street from the enocteca. One cool site was a renovated chapel, now being used as an art gallery featuring the works of local artists. But back to the food – the small, light menu is a welcome change from the usually over generous portions at most decent Lisbon restaurant s but that does not that mean that the favor and quality have been sacrificed. Ask for a mixed plate of local meats and cheeses and try bacalhau salad or the blood sausage. We will be visiting Lisbon again in May and would not dream of missing out on this great stop.
