Our special birthday dinner was amazing. Restaurant is in a small alley, luckily the taxi driver pointed it out. Our waiter and the chef spoke excellent English and made excellent recommendations. Gazpacho was delicious and refreshing and the appetizer recommended with smoked chorizo, asparagus cream and egg was amazing. We shared the St Peters fish and tuna entree and paired... More

We had a superb four-course meal, each course with a carefully chosen wine. The food was magnificent, include pig cheeks cooked for many hours, which just melted in the mouth and many traditional Portuguese foods given a modern twist to make them unusual to a British palate. The wines were even better, starting with several white wines and moving onto... More

My girlfriend and I visited on our last day in Portugal. From the beginning to the end, this was a very memorable experience. We asked the friendly staff for recommendations and they were happy to oblige. The Portuguese wines they served were great and perfectly matched the delicious food, we were given plenty of choice and they were happy to... More

This is yet another place where the manager makes the difference. The food is good Portuguese with an edge and the wine selection and price is great. We liked the bacalhao and tuna and absolutely loved the wine recommendations. It's really a relaxed small cosy place, which I wish I lived close by, because I would pass every day for... More

We stumbled across this place on a walk from site to site in Belem by accident and what a happy accident it was. Nelson Guerreiro will very happily open any bottle you to try a glass. Anything you can spot on the shelves using the binoculars you can borrow instead of a wine list. .. We learned something too about... More

A fantastic place. Wonderful menu. Fabulous wines. Exceptional service. We stayed in the Baixa, but it was well worth the short cab ride to Belem for this gem. I cannot stop thinking about the pork cheeks. They were truly sublime. But one note - the place is small. Maybe 8 tables. So a reservation is a good idea.

We chose this place as a last minute decision, and boy were we glad we did! It's a lovely small restaurant with a vast selection of wine. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable and took their time to explain everything to us! We got to taste wine and port and learn details about each one. The food was delicious!... More

We stumbled into this place on a side street in the Belem area for lunch about 1 p.m. without reservations after a quick check on our phone. Wow! Several of the wines, including "Fado" really opened our eyes and tastebuds to the wonderful world of Portuguese wines--wines that you rarely see in the states. The only problem is that many...
