Praise there is aplenty for Come Prima, one of Lisbons best-loved traditional Italian restaurants. Being a bit tucked away on Rua Olival, an easy walk from the romantic Tapada das Necessidades gardens, is part of the restaurants considerable charm. A reassuringly cosy atmosphere, lovely lighting, wooden tables and chairs and friendly staff - Come Prima hits all the right notes. Expect wonderfully simple Italian classics - tomato soup to tiramisu - freshly prepared with skill and care. Some diners have said the pasta and pizza are the best theyve ever had. Whats certain is Come Prima hand-make their pasta fresh, and bake their pizzas to perfection in a wood-fired oven. Nice wine list, too. Ask for a table upstairs where its cosiest.

Superb

My wife and I were staying at the Lapa Palace Hotel 5 minutes walk away and we ate here twice during our stay. Both times we both had superb meals in this fabulous place. The food was excellent and the prices very reasonable indeed, even after they'd added a few euros for the bruschetta and... read more

There are probably thousands of restaurants around the world like Come Prima. Unassuming, off the beaten track that you'd simply walk by if you didn't know about them. The first night we had delicious minestrone and Aubergine Parmigana followed by Sea Bream and Tagliatelle con fungi. The second night was Minestrone again and stuffed mushrooms followed by salmon lasagne and... More

Absolutely fantastic authentic Italian... Split the pesto wild shrimp and truffle butter angel hair pastas, both were delicious. Added pizza for dessert, pizzas were a true Napolitano style pie and was also delicious. Service was super friendly and inviting, made the meal an absolute pleasure. Meal was very reasonable price including two bottles of wine. About €20/person

If you have never been to Italy, you would probably love this restaurant. I went there excited by the very good reviews it had. Although the food was pretty good, I was expecting something closer to what I would get in a decent restaurant in Italy. It's not quite there. It is probably difficult to find better in Portugal, because... More

The food was just great! We stayed at the Lapa Palace nearby and found the Come Prima the perfect mix of fine dining with a genuine local feel.

We were staying at the Sheraton so our taxi driver from that part of town was unsure how to get there! He had to ask another driver on the way for directions. So lesson learned, bring the address and the phone number with you! This restaurant is on a quiet side street amid the cobblestone streets of Lisbon. Once we... More

This was a good food option away from the centre and traditional Portuguese food. We arrived without a reservation and were a bit worried that we wouldn't get in but they accommodated us. They offered us bruschetta and bread with oil to start the meal and we opted for the bruschetta only. Note that whatever they put on the table... More
