Best meal of our trip

Made a nice change from the other standard Portuguese food on offer. Very good quality food and good service. We had the chef's special tagliatelle and salmon with vodka and cream sauce both come recommended. Also a good location if you want to try some of the bars around barrio alto.

We ended up here for lunch on our first day in Lisbon and enjoyed it so much we returned for dinner on our final night. Highly recommend the mushroom risotto and the house desserts are also excellent. The owner and the waiter are both so helpful and welcoming.

After a few days, I needed a break from Portuguese food so I stopped in after a day of sightseeing. It was nearly midnight and the place was still packed (dinner starts late here). I had very little expectation I'd get a table, even if the kitchen happened to still be open. A lovely waiter, Jaoa (sp?) greeted me and... More

We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table upstairs. The kind waiter helped in our choice of Portuguese wine and we had a great starter - homemade tomato soup followed by a light & crispy pizza for my OH and a lasagne for me. All excellent and for just 44€.

An Italian restaurant, serving very good pasta. Great service, reasonable prices. The interior could be a bit better - the chairs are worried out, table mats - plastic. But overall a good experience.

Limoncello was located close the apartment my group was renting and selected based on Tripadvisor reviews. We arrived shortly after it opened for we did not have reservations. We were immediately seated on the 2nd level by the window with a great view of a busy and entertaining intersection. All of our pasta dishes were great and the service was... More

Great food, great service and very reasonably priced. A great experience overall. The owner himself brought complementary port to the tables after our meal. Will definitely return.

I went here three times over the space of a week in Lisbon, the food was always really nice and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lots of restaurants in Lisbon have people outside trying to coax you inside with the menu - Limoncello refreshingly did not, the food sells itself. Will definitely be back if I visit Lisbon... More

Our last night in Lisbon we were ready for a departure from the wonderful seafood we had been enjoying and found reviews for Limoncello to be favorable and gave it a try. We were not disappointed. The charming two story corner spot was welcoming and quiet. Food was delicious and service from Joao friendly and helpful. The owner was also... More

This restaurant is on the border of the Chiado/Bairro Alto regions of Lisbon. We selected it due to our fondness for Italian cuisine and the high ratings on TripAdvisor. We had a bit of trouble finding it, and the cheeky lad in front of the restaurant/lounge across the street tried to woo us into his establishment instead. Shame on you... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighborhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
