One of the best steaks we have every had in all our travels & in London. We both had pepper steaks which were divine, the staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Would recommend this restaurant - reasonably priced, everything you would want in a local restaurant.

Turn the corner from lively street, As Salgadeiras is there, quiet outside but inside of the restaurant does have cool vibes, servers are all young men (I wonder why?) but provides excellent services. Bread come with tuna paste, garlic butter and a whole soft cheese, yes you need to pay for it but worth it, I don't mind to pay... More

A little disappointing given the reviews and hotel recommendation. The steak I ordered was done to perfection and the starters were excellent. Our companions' cod three ways was also quite good. But for a restaurant of this quality, I would expect something other than iceberg lettuce and tomato for a green salad and the fries with the steak weren't done... More

Near Louis de Camoes square, in the heart of the Barrio Alto, an excellent portuguese address: adorable service and very good typical cooking. Mostly portuguese clients (which is always a good sign): excellent fishes and portuguese specialties. An impressive wine-list. One of the best value of Lisboa downtown.

We didn't have a reservation and were told there wasn't a table available, but while we were standing outside deciding where to go next, a waiter came out and told us there had been a cancellation, so we got a table. Great! This place is quite well known for its "bacalhau" dishes (salted cod), so two of us shared the... More

We were welcomed very warmly by the staff and by the owner who has a great habit to personally come to take the order for all his clients. We choose the cod cakes as appetizer and my wife took the stuffed octopus and I had the cod fish with broccoli and potatoe. Was very good and I recommend this for... More

Four nights out of five in Lisbon my girl and I decided to dinner at As Salgadeiras. Supreme food, outstanding service, wonderful atmosphere. Unparallell wine list, from the obvious expensive ones to the unknown yet though excellent non expensive Portuguese wines. The food is a marvelous mixture of styles the owner and his wife captured from their rich experience living... More

Upon entering, you will be greeted by one of the most charming dining rooms to be found anywhere. You will also be greeted by some of the most charming waitstaff to be found anywhere as well. Overall a great experience, Lisbon at its best. Warm people serving authentic food. Definitely make it a part of any visit to Lisbon.

Restaurant is nearly placed from Chado-Baixa metro exit so pretty easy to reach: we got very good and standard portoguese starters with goat cheese and olives followed by beef steak with pepper sauce and octopus "a la minho" (portoguese typical recipe) and...an oustanding chocolate fondue with a mix of fresh fruit. The place is very well managed by young people... More

Please go here ! this place was very close to our appartment whilst in Lisbon ... great reviews and we gave it a go. it far exceeded my expectations. prices are reasonable (22Euro for Steak), wine list was extensive, and plenty of menu choices for most to be suitably happy. whatever you order, please, please have the cod cakes. they...
