Delicious Cataplana

Fresh fish, traditional decor and lovely atmosphere...Seafood Cataplana was absolutely delicious. The service is very good and the price is reasonable for excellent food.

I'm here now, I had the Ham Pata Negra and Chesse as a starter and main course grilled octopus wonderful if you come here and eat you will not be disappointed but if you are a McDonald eater stay away because you don't know what proper food is. Staff great, service great. Be nice it can be busy. But manners... More

Stumbled across this restaurant & was glad we did. Fresh fish, lobster, oysters & crabs all on view. Good choice of dishes all served perfectly. Staff English speaking & very friendly Food washed down with a 20 year old port. Great free WiFi.

Nice place for eat the lunch, very cheap food for a good quality. You have differents starter ( tomato salad, lettuce with onion, rice salads...) And another part with 6 different meal and four different garnitures. Negative point : the cheese or the dessert are not include in the buffet price.

We were recommended this restaurant by a couple we met whilst travelling. We decided to try it ,so we went in to have a look and booked for the following evening. It was nice inside , quite rustic, but we're sat too close to next table. Service was very slow they were busy and people kept coming for tables. Food... More

We came across this restaurant while walking along Rossio Square. They have a tasteful interior design and display of wide selection of seafoods like lobsters, Turbots and etc. The staff attended to us was very friendly and on her recommendation, we ordered a portugese seafood stew, Cataplana, a grilled turbot, a grilled pork dish and a salad. Their foods were... More

Went there on my birthday night and first night in Lisbon. Great food with good portions, traditional ambience, we had a sea bream for 2 that could easily serve 4. We are well used to eating fish cooked whole (not filleted) but beware if you are not and ask the server for fillets. Portion for 2 could have served 3!... More

Azulao tiles, wide selection of portugese wines, cosy atmosphere, fresh fish. We recommend the Cataplana.

We spent a somewhat dreary afternoon wandering up and down the Avenida de Liberdade. As was often the case we ended up hungry too late for lunch but too early for dinner by normal Lisbon restaurant hours. Having passed by Leão D`Ouro before and thought it seemed interesting, we stopped by again to have a look. It was open and, as... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
