A wonderful place to taste fine Portuguese wines and cuisine, the setting is wonderful, as is the food and the wine! Thoroughly recommended.

It's an old water tower, fantastic atmospheric building, untypically flawless service, amazing wines, food to die for. My friends know, I don't often gush like this, but if you are in Lisbon, seek this place out. It's fabulous!!!

Food fine, wines also at reasonable price. Like many places in Lisbon. Staff very friendly. Cellars (I think used to be part of water delivery system from aqueduct) good to see

About 10 years ago we found this unique place in Lisbon. Located in one of the entrances to the water system that serves Lisbon with drinking water via the aqueduct called Mae d´aqua , Mother of water. Our experience from that occation brought us once more to this restaurant. While entering we pass the kitchen and a staircase leading to... More

Alas, Lisbon was cold and rainy when we did an elaborate city trip in March. Places like this restaurant are not heated and the humidity of this old water reservoir makes it even more chilly. Needless to say we ate with our coates on and made it a very quick dinner. Tapas are okay, but nothing special. The wine list... More

We really liked this place - not only was it really impressive looking, but the staff were great and the selection of wines simply amazing. We didn't eat anything, but that was because we were just stopping in for a drink.

To find the restaurant you need to go up the hill of Rua de Mae de Agua and you won't be disappointed - great menue, excellent selection of Portuguese Wines!

Managed to get a last minute reservation on our 1st night in Lisbon at this wonderful wine bar and restaurant. Ordered the 38 EUR set menu that was based on 4 courses with matching wines - given there are 2 choices for each course you are bound to find something to suit. Food was simple good ingredients with a twist,... More

We booked in advance as a party of 10. We opted for four courses of Portuguese wine and food, which I think is now 38EUR. Because we were a large group they brought out half-portions of eight different dishes. It was very varied and well prepared

We simply had a blast of a time. We were certainly the younger ones there, but I recommend for any age wine-lover. The staff know what they are talking about and they are quite attentive. If this one was not enough, the place itself is quite charming.
