One of the best Lisbon's traditional restaurants

I went first a year ago, experiencing the so famous UMA's seafood rice. It was really a fine meal. I came back to UMA again today and tried the veal liver ("iscas" in portuguese). They were simply done beautifully. At Lisbon downtown UMA is one of the best. It's a tiny place, the old staff that... read more

We were told to go here by a tour guide earlier in the day. He said the prices are good, food is excellent and the service is quite rude but they're concentrating on the quality of the food. Whatever, he was one hundred percent right on all three counts. We got a pot of the sea food rice to share... More

I was recommended to go there from Korea's bloggers! The food was good enough for its price but there were too many Koreans

We had a reservation for 25 people so we basically had the whole restaurant for ourselves. The waiter is an old guy not speaking any English. He was quite rude actually but it didn't really bother us. We had the famous seafood rice for 10 Euros per person. As we were 25 we had to wait quite long time but... More

Had a meat dish with clamps. Portions were small and not very tasty. Service was so awful, that it was almost funny. Do not recommend this restaurant.

This is not so much a restaurant review as a review of a missed opportunity. Having read about its supposedly wonderful seafood rice, we tracked down the place -- not difficult. After ordering a bunch of dishes including a single-portion serving of the seafood rice, we were gruffly told we couldn't have the single-portion serving. We "must" order the double... More

We came across this restaurant by chance and it was a marvellous find. We did not expect to find anything so simple, unpretentious and genuine in the middle of Lisbon. We did not consider having anything other than the arroz de mariscos, the speciality of the casa, and we were not disappointed. It was truly excellent and satisfying and great... More

Recommended by a friend. This place offers the amazing seafood dish for great price. The waiter is an old man who does not speak English but very kind to all the clients. I'm so glad to find it and would love to visit again!!!

Wonderful the food and particularly their specility of "Arroz con Marisco" but also wonderful the old man, that behaves just like an old man!!! How to say, the restaurant without him would not be the same. Anyway, the arroz for two is quite difficult to be finished and it is full of crabs, prawns and shrimps. A delight for the... More
