Good food

Will start from behind. Terrible service, waiter ask for tips before the bill, just throw the food in the table. Very old and arrogant guy. The food was exelent and believe me I know about sea food. Anyway never gonna go again!

Known, by being a Fisherman Country, our lovely Portugal, we developed many sea food/fish recipe's that have been passed along from generation to generation and this Marisqueira shows you a little of the freshest, best that we have from our coast line. Enjoy

Our group of 6 ate here on a Saturday evening. We all agreed that the food was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. Our food was served quickly and everyone was happy! My children and I shared the full barbecued chicken. It came with fries. All very tasty and enough food. My mother and brother had the house... More

I don't understand some of the other comments. Yes, the waiters will bring bread, olives etc, like almost every restaurant in Lisbon, but you don't have to take them. The service was polite and reserved, or just traditional if you prefer. The main thing is that the seafood is simply outstanding. Highly recommended.

After a nice day in the beautiful city of Lisbon, we decided to go for some traditional sea food. After swarming around for a while, we choose this place. Of course the tricks of putting some things on the table like bread and cheese and such without asking, happened. Luckily we knew how to act on that. But that didn't... More

Food was average (lobster and some kind of porridge/soup), but the service was what ruined it for us. Bad and slow. We are often very generous with tipping when the service is good, but this time we only left a little, and the waitress was so incredibly rude about it. She looked mad and didn't even say goodbye when we... More

We eat here every visit to Lisbon, particularly if a Thursday or Saturday date is possible as there is fado in the evening. The seafood is outstanding and very reasonably priced.

We walked past this place a couple of times, as its on the main pedestrian street. We sat down inside (I strongly suggest not eating outside where the waiters are not so well trained) at a table by the window (another good tip). We ordered oysters (which were 3 different types, all delicious, and perfectly opened and very fresh) and... More

The food was good enough and the tiger prawns were huge, though they were so spicy my eyes watered. I would have given a rating of 3 out of 5, except now that I look at the receipt I see there were charges for bread, butter, and cheese. I didn't ask for any of these things, and thought they were... Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
