excellent service with romantic atmosphere, but the food is terrible

The food this terrible, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is romantic with excellent live fado music. I good still go back again and enjoy, but I wouldn't order food anymore.

If you want to see Fado music in its classic location, you go here. It is a more expensive restaurant than other Fado places, and does add a 30 euro charge for the music. You will find other Fado places without a music charge and with cheaper food--but having gone to several, the music here was the best. Every 25... More

If you are into musical/cultural experiences, this is a fun time and dinner. You are paying for dinner and a "show", so be sure to appreciate the performers with listening ears and closed mouths. They are not there as mere background noise, and expect to be treated well. Food is satisfactory but not memorable. They do the food service, then... More

Fado seriously pulls at the heart strings! My friend and I had already eaten so we ordered an order of chips and a bottle of wine. The place did seem to be a lure for tourists because there were a lot of non-Portuguese diners but there were also some locals who came to enjoy the music, which to me was... More

The music was amazing. My fiancé and I got shivers down our spines from the Fado singers. We ordered a soup, which was ok, but the real disaster was the main course. I ordered a medium rare steak 'Club de Fado style' (with tomato sauce). The tomato sauce was very liquid and had a dark disgusting colour. With the steak... More

We went to Club de Fado on a thursday as a recommendation from a Portuguese work colleague. We had no problems reaching the place, just needed to mention Club de Fado to the taxi driver. The atmosphere is very warm, lively also, I noticed many customers were foreign as me but also many portuguese, doesn't feel a tourist trap. I... More

Firstly, get a reservation. Secondly, you are there for the Fado (which is a wonderful mix of men and women singing). The food is Portuguese and rather heavy but tasty.

Had dinner here last week in beautiful Lisbon. The restaurant is well signed and easy to find. We arrived as the second couple there, but were warmly welcomed and offered any free table in the room. The food was decent - not groundbreakingly fabulous, but fine. This is not the place to go for gourmet dining. Having said that, the... More

The food was really good, but the best part of the dinner was the fado. The performance of the talented singers was moving. The atmosphere they create in the dining room while singing was unforgettable.

I made a reservation here because I wanted to see some fado and get at least decent food at the same time. I certainly got that. The bread was possibly the most fantastic bread I have ever had. After 2.5 weeks in Portugal and Spain, my wife and I ate still talking about it. My Portuguese style steak was great.... More
