Nice fado show, dinner was good

Fado was very impressive, which was soulful and filling with sadness and somthing more than that. Dinner was good, but not that excellent for me. Everything was good.

Our hotel in Lisbon recommended this fado restaurant to us and booked us in. After reading the reviews on TA, I was anxious about the price and the quality. However, as long as you visit with some prior knowledge, it can be a very worthwhile experience. The club is small, seats about 40 people and on this Monday in January... More

Ripoff is what comes to mind. Our bill for 4 people was over $300. for food that was just okay. These are very high prices for Lisbon. The music is good. Go there late and just have drinks. The table is laden with appetizers that you must pay for even if you don't want them or eat them. I don't... More

This is a very good restaurant if you want to have an experience of Alfama's fado and traditional portuguese (lisbon) people. The food is very expensive for its quality, anyway it is good. The environment can be familiar, romantic... its a very beautiful place and I just loved to be there mainly because of the alive fado music with small... More

We went to this clube de fado to have a nice night. The fado was good though. We ordered 2 salads and 2 chickens. We ordered a plate of ham for the entrance and it costed 18 euros. At total it costed 161 euros. Don't go there it's really terrible. Believe me.

We went to this Casa de Fado to have a nice night and good food... When we arrived there, it was absurd, a dish of ham for an entrant was 18 euros. There was good Fado though. The food was also bad we had 2 salads and 2 chickens and at the end the total was 161 euros including the... More

We were guests at the Ritz Four Seasons and were recommended this restaurant by the hotel concierge. Terrible experience. We had reservations for 9:00PM. Got there about 5 minutes late. We were sat quickly, but in a very small table situated in a very tight space. Knocked over a bottle of wine in the back of my chair to a... More

We enjoyed our meal and Fado. Especially the Fado. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. All in all a very enjoyable evening.

My husband was very eager to get to know something about the Portuguese culture so he booked for us this place to be known as one of the best of its kind and we weren't disappointed... The welcoming entering the place is very worm by all the staff, the food is simple and delicious and the music gives an ambiance... More

The restaurant is great inside. Very cosy setup, but make a reservation in advance for your own table. We had a boking for 8pm and were the first ones to arrive. Iw ould suggest booking for 9pm sit down. The first Fado (performance) was at 9:45pm. Main meals are all around EUR 30. Our meal was EUR 110 for two... More

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighborhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
