My husband and I went to several fado shows while we were on Portugal, this is the worst one by far. We arrived at 8:00pm and was stuck at a corner in the restaurant where there is no way to see the stage. Half of my table was wet from the leak in the ceiling upstairs. I did not realize... More

I had a different conception of what the program would be like at Club de Fado. I arrived way too early (doors open at 8 PM). If you have a reservation, you can arrive minutes before the show. I was given appetizers I did not order and they were added to my bill (5 euros). My hotel told me there... More

I bring my old Lady there and se got in na nobody told us you have to pay 10€ for watching The fado singing. We had a wine for 37€ (The wine cost 4€ in a market). We thought expensive and left for dinner another place: we paid 79€ for a wine and 5min fado.

We arrived a bit early at 20:30 and were seated near the show. Extremely polite and competent service with outstanding recommendation for the wine selection. We were served a big plate of cheese sausages fried vegetables and olives. Could easily have passed on the starter. The show was very authentic and exceeded our expectations.

I just want to echo what many others have said about Mario Pacheco's Clube de Fado. This is a wonderfully friendly, welcoming place where you can hear the "Portuguese Blues" better known as Fado. Mr. Pacheco himself performs along with several wonderful young singers, including an unusual male fado singer. Come here for the music and atmosphere. The food is... More

Other friends who have frequented Clube de Fado recommended us to visit while we were in Lisbon. It is not a disappointment. The music - the guitarist, the vocals, the band are very talented. The food is ok. While we did go there for dinner and music, I recommend going there a bit later and only for drinks as the... More

It´s not the first time I went to this place and the experience repeat itself: they have excellent musicians that play very well, specially one that plays Portuguese viola and good singers for Fado. The place is cozy and the neighborhood very beautiful, with the charm of the old Lisbon, with narrow streets in a hill, houses built in colonial... More

I read about Fado music in the travel books. Basically, it's Portuguese blues. So when my cousin decided to treat me out to a restaurant that featured live Fado music, I was eager to experience it. My visit to Clube de Fado really felt like I was in Europe. It's located in downtown Lisbon on a very narrow street. Inside,... More

Clube de Fado may be a tourists' favourite but it doesn't feel like a tourist trap. We visited on a Saturday in October and there was a full house for dinner. Music didn't start until after 9.30 and in the three hours we were there we heard three superb female fado singers and one male, each with distinctive styles, and... More

My wife and I searched around for a Fado restaurant during our stay in Lisbon and decided on Clube Fado, despite the wildly varying reviews. As many have said, the food is certainly on the expensive side, but I just considered it a cover charge for the music. The food was really good, with one issue. They brought my food... More
