Very small spot, so, come early or you'll risk a long wait. The servings are large, so beware what you ask. The owners are from Alentejo, and most of the dishes have fresh coriander, which I absolutely love. Try sharing a few dishes. The fried liver is great!

We noticed the restaurant while passing by, but it was too crowded so we let it slip at first. About an hour later (about 10 pm) we decided to try it out after all. We had to wait for about 15 minutes while the doorman entertained us with some smalltalk and stories. We ordered a mixed dish for 2 and... More

We also stumbled on this place and were persuaded to try it by the friendly guy outside. It's tiny and all tables were busy but he said if we went for a drink and came back in 15 minutes he would have a table for us. We weren't convinced but we weren't in a rush and did it anyway. Sure... More

We were tipsed about this restaurant from a friend. we waited quite a long time, (about an hour) to find three seats:) I liked the simplicity of the place, it was like a traditional portugese restaurant, with delicious plates and funny atmosphere! It was worth waiting :)

stumbled upon this place on our first night in Lisbon at 10pm and loved the experience. I ordered a steak dish for myself and my wife and it was HUGE. Everyone stood up in the restaurant astounded when it came out. It could have fed 6 rugby players. We somehow felt like royalty or something- how can I describe it?... More

This restaurant was close to where we were staying and we had walked past it a few times and joked about the size of the place. Our last night in Lisbon, we were looking for a place to sample octopus rice and this place got high reviews for octopus rice, so we decided to give it a try. We got... More

This small nondescript place doesn't look very appealing, but it's surprisingly good. We almost walked right by it, until we caught the intoxicating smell of good food. The street-caller (who looks off-putting in his dirty jeans and soccer scarf) awkwardly offered us a menu to read. The menu was old and battered, but the food in people's plates looked really... We were nearly put off by the guy trying to get people in off the street. However I'm glad we weren't! The waiter was very helpful and recommended the clams and then the mixed fish. Both were excellent and the portion sizes were large. A great find. I would go early as it filled up very quickly.

Completely disagree with review below. We went here last night and had our first meal, which was absolutely stunning. It's a little hidden gem so keep your eyes peeled or you'll walk past it like we did. Don't be put of by the size as the ambience and atmosphere make up for it. The waiter was very chatty and friendly.... More

Went to this restaurant because of the good reviews. Place was busy but friendly doorman told us to wait Half an hour and We could get seated. Turned out to be one hour. Once in the waiter was a joke - you expect advice not a dictate of what to order. A lot on the menu was out of season... More
