So good we went back

We hadn't planned on eating here but on a Sunday night a lot of places were closed. The food was tasty and plentiful. We both had the spit meat and couldn't believe how big the portion sizes were. We had a jug of Sangria too which was lovely. I'd definitely recommend this places. Also we had... read more

This restaurant was just along from our apartment in the Alfama district. We managed to get a table at our second attempt. The food was excellent, my husband, daughter and son in law all had different fish dishes and I had the steak and no one had any complaints. Definitely worth a visit.

I had read about this place on TA and we happened to be wandering down the street and there it was. Very crowded outdoors but found a table and joined in with some locals. The seafood is amazing and all the theatrics associated with the place....the staff, the owner, the buskers....made the night. Great food, had a small bottle of... More

We arrived just in time and got a table within a few minutes. This place quickly filled up, mainly with locals. Great atmosphere and ok service (they were very busy, so no problem, not expecting any pretentious airs and graces here, or anywhere for that matter). The food was delicious, we had sea bass, squid and cuttlefish, all with lots... More

The place is great, with a very nice outdoor seating area hidden among the houses of one of the most characteristic neighbourhoods of Lisbon. The atmosphere is down-to-earth and super friendly, the waiters were all in a good mood and joking with customers. The seafood was really great: if you want to get the true portugues sardines-experience, go there!! We... More

Lisbonne is a city with an amazing soul and nothing beats walking the Alfama district in the evening to find a place to eat. Narrow passageways, staircases up and down, it feels like you are in some sort of a maze and then suddenly a wider space opens up, a large mature tree stands in the middle of it and... More

Good food, freshly grilled. Nice terrace, good and friendly service. A nice spot to sit under the trees and enjoy the real life in a busy town!

My boyfriend and I had been walking around the neighbourhood looking for a spot to eat. We stumbled across this restaurant and it had everything we were looking for; atmosphere was electric, it smelt delicious, and cheap! I recommend this place 100% staff were brilliant, food was exceptional and we had a great time. Order sangria you won't be disappointed!

Very typical Alfama. Good ambiance and good food. You wouldn't think this spot (the terrace) would change in a restaurant at night, which makes it very grass root and special. I ate the famous Sardinhas and it was delicious.

Pateo 13 in Alfama was our second favorite dinner destination while in Lisbon. Also in Alfama, it is an outdoor venue tucked within the inner part of Alfama and specializes in fresh fish all cooked in the grill. Expect to wait the later the night goes, but well worth it. It almost seems "touristy" with the crowds, but Pateo 13... More
