Way overpriced for the quality (food and service) offered. Touristy that's all. Don't know how it keeps getting TripAdvisor tickets on its door.

Been before several times, and cannot fathom the negative reviews this place gets. The place was packed when we got there, with everyone arriving at the same time. But they coped well in a small kitchen. The food is consistently excellent, the pork with lemon and spicy roast chicken are particularly good along with the cod soufflé (way better than... More

The food and the wine were just ok, my cod a lagareira was a bit dry. The bad thing was that after we finished our meals, because they do not take credit cards, I had to go for a long walk to find a cash machine and that really disappointed us. That was inconvenient and therefore I think the service... More

I was in the barrio alto area and as it was the first night, I hadn't prepared and did a look to see what fellow tripadvisors suggested. Even if I had, it would seem that the latest reviews I would have disagreed with. I picked this place as it had a tripadvisor sign (then realized there's a lot of places... More

The restaurant is quite small and tables fairly close together but not so much as to feel claustrophobic. We were offered a glass of port to start with which was nice. The food here appeared to be rather more traditional than many of the other places around the Barrio. The garlic prawns were gorgeous! I then had pan baked cod... More

Food is quite good. Quality and flavour are ok. However, quantity is poor and price is a big high for Portugal. I recommend de "spiritual" cod and the roasted pork with lemon. The restaurant is a bit small and the baths are "special"

Good service, very well prepared food and reasonable prices are the reason I've been three times in the last year. This place doesn't pitch at the TA scribblers, just concentrates on the food, service and experience. The pork in lemon with mash is excellent. Consistent, good quality food. The wines are well chosen and well priced. Go again? Definitely

After aching feet from walking, and not wanting to go to one of those restaurants that has someone out in front haggling me for a meal, we came across this cozy place. Yes, I like the rustic homey feel, small restaurant, and there were actually a few couples in there. The menu seemed to have traditional portuguese dishes (which was... More

Nice place, nice people. The octopus was really fantastic, the beef with carrots and the chicken spiced were really good and abundant. We wanted only a small amount of wine and decided to go with the red house wine, surprisingly it was good, not heavy and with a pleasant taste. The restaurant was clean. Finally the quality/price ratio good.

We picked this little place in Barrio Alto as it looked far less neon-lit, sleazy and cheesy than many of the other places in this somewhat overrated area, instead it has a more authentic wine bottle & wooden table feel to it. The only waiter was friendly and welcoming, and the service was good. The food was quite basic in... More
