Boney fish!

I ordered the swordfish & was told this was the Portuguese fish and it was like cod! This came out and omg I couldn't eat it!! Too many, far too many bones. I appreciate fish have bones but would happily pay extra to get it filleted. Very expensive meal for what it was. Wouldn't go again.

Simple menu and simple food and still it was possible to fry a fish (lenguado) to such a dry dish. What a shame of the fish. Maybe it's OK if you only go for drinks and the nice view.

A great stop for a snack at lunch time. Just had burgers, very tasty, tomato salad on the side. Service good. Couple of drinks, great view. Lots of Portuguese eating and drinking. It probably was a 'good' rather than 'average' but dont feel its a 'very good'.

We were recommended this restaurant, which maintained that fish and sardines were its speciality. We stopped here for lunch and were most disappointed. The service was not great. The fish was awful. My friend had to return 2 of her sardines as they were inedible, a further 2 were brought out of which only one was edible. I ordered swordfish... More

In late January, we sat on the outside terrace of Bolina for a very enjoyable breakfast. The omelet and ham and cheese sandwich were tasty and well presented. The servers were both very friendly, efficient, and helpful. We needed directions after the meal and received excellent help. The setting was perfect as we headed for Cascais.

We stayed in Estoril for a week in September, though the weather was bad - very bad - we had the most pleasant experience. We thankfully stumbled upon bolina'is (what we called the beer place by the sea) and went every day the entire week we was there. Sometimes just for a beer, sometimes a snack, band every time we was... More

Pleasant lunch, great location, helpful and attentive staff. Watched the surfers as we enjoyed our food and the sunshine. Staff told us of the cover charges (you pay for what you eat) as they put them on the table. Reasonably priced and well worth the walk along the esplanade.

Steak, egg and chips was really good. Very reasonably priced meals for the location as long as you don't accept the covers they put on your table right at the start. All restaurants do the same here!

Situated further round the Estoril promenade (under the station, turn left, go past the fort), I'm sure that many visitors don't make it as far as the Bolina. Make the effort as it's worth it! From the terrace you look across the promenade straight onto the breaking waves, very atmospheric! The sea bass was excellent but we found the cooking... More

Visited the restaurant "off season" in May. Friendly staff and good service. The menu offers meat, fish and shellfish dishes portuguese style. Had the Bacalao and it was very tasty and well prepared. Prices are a bit high, due to the location by the sea i guess, "tourist trap"! Great sea view. the interior in white and blue tiles doesn't... More
