The restaurant of the - arguably - western most hotel In Europe. Restored 17th century fortress facing the Atlantic. Relais & Chateaux member, restaurant has one Michelin star. Well-deserved for the food and wine, the view is incredible. Very correct service. the sommelier is top-class, without setting you back a fortune. 150 EUR/person food & wine Full of board and... I couldn't imagine a more romantic dinner location, complete with watching the sun set over the sea. The service is highly professional, discreet and not OTT. The set menus are fairly priced for the quality of the food you get, This is the minimum I'd expect to pay for this quality in London. We enjoyed every mouthful of our 4... More

While the menu did not change by much over the three nights, there range of meats and fish dishes, appetizers and deserts gave everyone of our two couples new choices. The Fort is a little isolated, but an easy drive to Cascais, but we liked the privacy at this off season time as well as easy drive to Sintra

Dining at this Michelin starred restaurant is a memorable experience Located overlooking the sea at the westernmost point in Europe, Fortaleza matches its views with divine food, wine and outstanding service. Each dish is finely crafted of the freshest ingredients found and prepared in keeping with its Micheline star. Pâté ,black pork and raspberry macarones were inspired dishes. Service was... More

We have been there for five dinners, so we tasted the whole offer ;-) and were never unhappy. Michelin rates the restaurant with one star some plates deserved even two, like the sea-bass cooked on seaweeds steam, Oysters tar´tare from Rio Formosa, iodine cream, or the great sauted venison, butternut puree with five spices, Autumn fruit and girolles and a... It’s the great restaurant! Excellent food (especially pay attention to the chef’s suggestions), excellent service, fantastic ocean view. Giant oysters – it was something special! We ate there twice and strongly recommend this great place!

Here, you get what you pay for. Although not cheap, probably is one of the best restaurants in Portugal, featured with one michelin star last year. Strongly recommended, for the food, the service and the awesome location and views overlooking the ocean. Don't expect to pay less than 100EUR for 2 persons.

Outstanding food. Best meal since Carme Ruscaleda's San Pau a year ago. Superb setting with views over the Atlantic. Food is of Michelin 3* quality but occasional (albeit minor) lapses in service a hindrance to achieving that accolade. Sea bass cooked with seaweed and served with a tartare of oyster and a light but intense sauce, redolent of the sea;... More

This restaurant is well worth the visit. I came with a group of twenty-five people. The service was excellent, the food well-prepared and delicious, nice selction of wine and the view of the waves splashing on the rocks was amazing. Make sure you have reservations to make sure ou do not miss out on this experience.

The Fortaleza do Guincho is situated on the edge of the Atlantic, a few miles north of Cascais, and looking towards Cabo da Roca (the most westerly point in Europe). The restaurant offers a spectacular view of the crashing waves, all the more so as the sun sets over the sea. It would be worth visiting for the ambience alone,... More
