Description: Oba is up above the hustle and bustle of the main square in Cascais. It is a little tricky to get to, next to the Shabu Shabu Sushi and above the Sex Shop! But once you get up to the second floor of the building behind the Hotel Baia you will be rewarded with a beautiful space, great cocktails, fine food for all tastes including 14 vegetarian options. We will give you a warm welcome in a chic, understated alfresco environment. Oba!

I am surprise that this restaurant has such a high rating. We went there in March, so quite out of season and maybe they have a trainee not a proper chef cooking that night, I don't know. Tempted by vegetarian choice we went there and get some starters: stuffed courgette and stuffed mushroom. Not bad, too salty but tasty, although... More

Simply superb food, ambiance and service but I am so sick of the darn 'greeters' who hustle people into their restaurants. Just put the menu at street level and let me read it without your chatter. Friendly and funny 'greeters', not knocking the persons, just truly sick of them being in my face every place. I honestly have not been... More

We must have picked the worst time to visit Cascais with the torrential rain. We had planned on visiting Oba's due to its good reviews and roof terrace. Unfortunately the golf ball size rain drops meant inside seating was the only viable option. Only about three tables were occupied and service was certainly friendly and efficient. There were no issues... More

We had spoken to Al downstairs a couple of times when passing so finally we went upstairs for lunch (€12.80 for selected main courses + drink + coffee). My husband had the bream and I had the sirloin steak, both were very good. Service was friendly. We sat on the balcony which was okay as the weather was good. (Greetings... More

As we walked by the menu board, Ricardo gave a friendly smile. When I asked"vegetarian?" He flipped the sign over and it said, "welcome Kadampas! And a list of veggie dishes specially designed for our Kadampa meditation group that was holding a large event in Cascais. We followed him upstairs and dined on the patio. The stuffed courgette (zucchini) was... More

To get out of the midday heat two friendly restaurant lads lured us upstairs where we had the choice of sitting out on the shaded balcony with a breeze or inside. We decided inside was cooler but most of the other diners sat on the balcony and looked happy enough with carafes of wine and pleasant plants here and there.... More

My wife was a little reluctant initially to accept Als' (the restaurant PR guy at the bottom of the stairs) invitation to go up to this second floor restaurant but commented when leaving that after fish dinners at five other restaurants on previous evenings in Cascais this was the best. The service is friendly and efficient, Al was doing so... More

We ate here on a recent trip to Cascais due to good Tripadvisor reviews and because we wanted a break from fish and heard this place had veggie options (there was one!). It may have been our own fault as we fancied an early dinner (around 6.30 pm) but the restaurant was empty which meant there wasn't much of an... More

I have been in Portugal for 6 days now, and have eaten out pretty much every day, however was still struggling to find anywhere decent. Me and my boyfriend were walking past Oba! When we decided to walk in as it was the first place we had seen open so late in the afternoon. The first thing I noticed was... More

Simply said, this place is absolutely phenomenal. We were travelling to Cascais on a private tour, and had the afternoon to ourselves to find a place to eat and enjoy the town. We stumbled upon this restaurant with a rooftop (a rarity in Cascais), so we figured we’d check it out. If nothing else, the views would be good. Little... More
