This place is very good. It is difficult to find because it is in a backstreet but I think that is a good thing! So many people came and couldn't eat because it was already full. You should go on time to get a table or make a reservation. The fish is very fresh and prepared to perfection. The chocolate... More

Took us a long time to locate (up the stairs at the back of the Town Hall) but well worth the wait. 8 of us on a weeks trip to Cascais and this was the best meal (steak prefectly cooked and of the highest standard), the best service and cheapest meal of the week. Don't be fooled by the hand... More

Dom Pedro l is tucked just out of sight off the main square. Turn your back to O'Neill's pub (always a good idea anyway...) and you will see a lane just ahead on your right. You will see no sign of a restaurant until you take 20 steps and there you are. There are only about 6 tables outside and... More

We went to this restaurant after reading rave reviews in the guest book where we are staying. It is a charming place, very small and intimate. Very attentive staff with good English. The waiter suggested Wreckfish which was new to me. A very good size fillet, deliciously grilled. The menu items are reasonably priced. Reservations are recommended.

We read about this place on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. On first visit it was full so We booked for the following night. An absolute treat. Good simple food at a great price. The waiters are really friendly and helpful and the food delicious. We ate here twice during our stay and everything we had, prawns... More

For a traditional Portuguese meal at a price you can afford, why not try Dom Pedro I. Tucked into a small back street, the restaurant is easy to miss, but to do so would be to deny yourself a really tasty meal. The food is excellent, the service friendly and quick. The menu is not huge but what there is... More

Fantastic authentic Portuguese restaurant including the décor, quiet small so you might need to book in the busy season, we started with grilled prawns and clams cooked in garlic & olive oil, followed by a wonderful Cod dish for two with onions, peppers, boiled potatoes. The owner even changed my wine choice to suit the food plus his recommendation was... More

Lovely tiny restaurant hidden away in the backstreet very close to the centre of cascais. The waiters were extremely friendly and the food was very nice. Both he and my girlfriend had a fish dish and both were good value. There wasn't a whole lot if atmosphere, I felt the place could do with a bit of ambient music in... More

Not that easy to find, look for the statue of Dom Pedro I in the square by the small (excellent) beach and turn right up the steps. Small and very friendly restaurant with good choice of local dishes. V friendly English speaking staff - will even look after your bike 😉

Food was not up to scratch, the most expensive beef dish was tough, two others shared a large fish, both scored their meal under four. Two other dishes seemed ok

Hi and first of all thank you for your review. I am sorry your food experience wasn't what you expected. I also cannot comment much further because you don't specify which courses you had. We don't serve large fishes for two people, maybe it was the Codfish Dom Pedro? Being so it's two center pieces of the highest quality loins... More
