Good place to visit

In this restaurant we were invited by our friends, they were in this place before and they liked it. The restaurant is located in the heart of the city. Very comfortable inside, several cozy halls and a gallery above. There are places outside, but we sat inside. The service was good, even Russian... read more

We had dinner there. The menu is rich with seafood varieties. Raw oysters were perfect. The shrimps and calamari were very fresh and nicely cooked/grilled. One of our best meals throughout our trip. Service was also excellent.

I have now been to this restaurant 4 times and tried different dishes and they were all excellent. The service is amazing without being intrusive and this is why prices are slightly higher than other places around but it's nice to enjoy old school pomposity now and again! I am looking forward to eating there again when I visit next... More

We only ate here once, but our waiter was very nice, spent time walking us through the menu. Eventually we went with his recommendation of Arroz do Mescado (Rice with Seafood), which is almost like Paella Stew. It was fantastic. The wine he recommended was great, as was the dessert (some sort of famous Portugeuse baked apple). The total was... More

We had taken the train up to Cascais and had walked around the old town area and beaches. We were looking for a local place for lunch and happened on Casa Velha - it was a beautiful day and we sat outside (although this has a very nice inside as well). The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with... More

It was pouring with rain and we almost crossed the road to an ordinary place offering Chicken Piri-piri but, thank goodness this charming place was nearer. We were warmly welcomed, quickly made comfortable and our drinks brought with the menus. What choice. We both had fish soup and then I had dorado with perfectly cooked vegetables and my companion had... More

We had once lunch outside on the veranda and once dinner inside upstairs. On both occasions the seafood (excellent oysters!!) we had was very good and the service efficient and friendly.

Our third visit to Cascais and we decided it was time to try this restaurant, which we had passed many times. It was excellent, real classic Portugese food served by professional waiters. A fantastic atmosphere, good fresh fish and meat dishes and the exceedingly delicious Iberico ham available as a starter, we are hooked! The house wines were good quality... More

This place proudly presents sticker of "Michelin recommendation 2007" on entrance doors...and I'd guess waiter serving us tonight remember that time. Unfortunetly, chef was either changed or he forgot how to cook since 2007. So, great service, food without any spark (beef portugeese style / garlic shrimps) - like from some school canteen...

I enjoyed a quiet, relaxed dinner here. The food is traditional Portuguese which I myself love..especially the grilled Codfish. It is a little expensive but worth the price. The atmosphere is 1st class.
