Good Portugese Food

Good dinner of local seafood. We sat inside on the upper level which gave an atmospheric view of the restaurant and was nice and cool. I did sunbathe in Cascais Atlantic Ocean and for lunch we enjoyed pleasant experience of friends and I chose to go to the restaurant Casa Velha. It was an excellent choice. I have nothing to reproach Ambiental. Staff very kind, English speaking, music could be heard in the background, the recommendations were full of good sense and irreproachable. Being 6... More

I have been to Casa Velha with my parents because they really liked how it looked like from the outside. We knew that the prices were expensive for Portugal because of the pricelist showed at the door but alright, it was my father's birthday. 1.) We didn't get any wine recommendation even tough we asked for it. The waiter rushed... More

We ate at Casa Velha on the last night of our trip as it had been recommended to us. Out if all the places we'd eaten in Cascais, this place was definitely the worst. We were seated inside which was not a problem, the interior was quaint but comfortable. The bread and cheese were over priced, as was most of... More

The best is the service, and the food. The interior is very cosy. With fishermans apparel, the interior has a mezanine balcony. There are also outside tables. Good for fish and sellfish. The pata negra ham and cheese is a good starter to enjoy with a cold beer. There is also lots of fresh fruit to choose as desert. Good... More

The best meal we had in Cascais. We had a couvert of bread with parma ham which was carved in the restaurant. We love seafood, I had the crab, my husband had the cataplana (seafood stew) and it was over flowing with fish. My son had the smoked salmon followed by the clams and prawns in pasta, all our dishes... More

Food Cured meat and bread for starters were good (but 17eu for some ham altho v good!!) Steaks are a good choice to go for with lots of flavoured sauce... More

Had grilled sardines and was not disappointed. Not something to write home about, but definitely well cooked, tasty and fresh. I wasn't naive enough to think the cheese, bread and water was free - others need to engage brain a little bit! I enjoyed my meal and would go back again.

One of the best cheap rsstaurants in Cascais. Main customers are the tourists but the level of service, quality of food, waiters are excellent. If you will be their you need to try Bachalao a Bras - typical Portuguese dish, cod fish with eggs and French fries.
