We managed to get a table outside on the sea view terrace. The place was very busy and we could sea why... the food is delicious! Great fresh seafood, simply prepared to bring out the best in the ingredients. The service was good and the wine fantastic. Although a bit pricey we will definately... read more

The view. Incredible! Whether on a beautiful day when the sky is so blue and the water calm as oil or on a windy day when the waves hits the breakers and threaten to overtake the restaurant. Food is great. Start with the percebes those little barnacles that may be caught only during certain months in extremely difficult conditions and... More

This restaurant is perched on a cliff looking out over the Atlantic, and if you can stop staring at the ocean, the food is worthy of your attention. Seafood is king here, and the waiters know their business. They will tell you what is freshest, and what your options for preparation look like. This is a place where having a... More

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend and were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were impressed, both with the venue itself and the ultimately the food. We tried barnacles as an entree and something completely different, and absolutely loved it. We had the seafood platter for mains and every mouthful we ate was utterly delightful. The... More

I am saddened to write that my experience was tainted by an overly rude manager. One who argued about when I made my reservation, would rather have delivered poor service to avoid compromise and delighting a couple, and who scowled the entire evening. We were saved by a sweet charming waiter (Carlos) and the clams. This was a large disappointment... More

I have been to Furnas probably some 50-60 times in the last 15 years. On almost all of the occasions, Furnas has excelled in terms of quality of food and impeccable service. Tonight, however, it performed really poorly on a number of points (not in order of importance): 1. They lacked a number of dishes on the menu (no oysters... More

This restaurant is in a very romantic setting, overlooking the ocean. We watched men night fishing off of the reefs (in the dark) while we ate. The restaurant sent each of us a complimentary glass of champagne when they found out it was our anniversary. The traditional Portuguese food was prepared expertly, and we shared Tiger Prawns (a special) and... More
