Simple but good food

We had good food for very reasonable prices. The setting is not very inviting and the place seems often crowded, but we had a good quality lunch here. Portions are big, family style restaurant.

We wanted to try chicken piri piri and this place delivered the goods. Seriously the most tender and juicy chicken I've had in a long time! Added bonus were the percebes that they delivered as we sat down - they weren't very large but still provided the delicious saltiness that we love. Another highlight was the creme caramel, which looked... More

Although the eating area is a little cramped, the food here was delicious. My wife and I had different fish in Potuguese style with boiled potatoes and both were absolutely lovely. Service was speedy and efficient and the place is well worth a visit.

We ordered grilled chicken and pork, but unfortunately pork wasn't fresh, didn't smell right so I left it on plate instead of eating it and getting sick. Chicken was nice but how could you serve meat that pass the prime time, that is not ok. Very disappointed, would not eat here ever again.

Came here back in the "70's" and was pleased to see they were still in business in 2014. You can find the restaurant from the train, just follow the aroma! The wait staff seemed a bit bored but the food was phenomonal. Used Emerill Legasse's recipe when we got back home and it was right on. Like being back in... More

Visited here to sample Piri Piri Chargrilled Chicken. The staff were cold bored and had no interest. The chicken was not Chargrilled but roasted and overcooked and dry. The fries were greasy and barely warm. The "starters" were loaded onto the table and were disgustingly cold and greasy. They were charged for despite the fact that we did not ask... More

I have read a lot of the reviews and seen the mixed feelings. The food is based around freshly cooked chicken either with piri piri sauce or garlic sauce. Both are good and you are not left hungry at the end. The Piri piri version is cooked without the sauce and you add it after which is great for those... More

Whenever we arrive in Cascais we go straight to this restaurant/take away for excellent butter soaked barbecued chicken, excellent piri piri sauce and tasty chips. The kids love the experience of buying to take away and it is very good value.

It was cheap.. and very cheerful and it was one of the few times these days when I didn't book from the higher echelons of the tripadvisor recommendations.. we walked passed it and thought we would give it a spin the night after! Don't mess about.. get the Piri Piri Chicken and chips. Have the Heinz Tomato Soup to start.... More
