A nice place to eat

The previous night we at at Cacerola Dois and I liked their menu more - to me it seemed more interesting. The food here was good - altho I ordered sole and they didn't have any. The portions are enormous, and I would suggest maybe a little less mayonnaise on the Bacalhau a la cacerola. Good... read more

We went for lunch in this highly popular and for Portuguese norms very expensive seafood restaurant in front of the Casino of Figueira da Foz. They served us a the most disgusting lobster plate we ate on this planet. It consists of a lobster cut in pieces served over a strange mix of bread pap (!). We asked the chef... More

Outstanding seafood, at modest prices. Service is slow and food sometimes arrives cold, but still enjoyable. The kabobs are excellent! There are two Cacerola restaurant; we were told this one is the more authentic. Hard to imagine the food quality at the other could be better, although the service might be.

The best was the melon with presunto. And the 2 icecream desserts. The main dishes: a totally overcooked dry sea bass. A salty chicken. We cook better ourselves

I seated outside, in the glass dehor, a good solution because you can smoke and look at the street crowd but you are also protected from the breeze, it can be cold even in August. I spotted a lot of locals eating here, always a good sign. The restaurant was quite crowded, even if it was late, but the tables... More

We ate here the 3 nights we were in Figuera Da Foz. Why. Well we read the tripadvisor reviews and decided to give it a try on our first night. My wife was hooked on the quality and simplicity of the food that she decided she wanted to go back night after night. From the bread and olives, right through... More

We had the picanha following a recommendation on tripadvisor, and it was truly excellent. Huge quantity of meat with chips and a wonderful mixed vegetable dish. Sangria to wash it down, and the usual bread/cheese/fishpaste starter. The only downside was we couldn't eat it all! Would definately use this restaurant again. We ate at Cacerola 1 by the casino.

I've been going to Figueira da Foz for 30+ years and haven't ever written a trip advisor restaurant review for the town, until now! Cacerola 1 is a typical portuguese restaurant in a good street location in the middle of the town. It is busy, when the town is busy, so be warned - Sat nights may need a wait,... More

Just to clear this up...there are two restaurants under the name Cacerola in Figueira, The one i am reviewing is Cacerola and the other is Cacerola Dois (Cacerola 2) opposite the casino, which in my opinion isn't as good as this one. This restaurant is to the left as you leave the casino and on the first left, round the... More
