Before you order anything, they bring out Bread, Olives and two Cheeses ( they charge you for 2/3 out of these), Main courses are plentiful and well priced and at the end they offer a free drink of Aguadente and something else.

Not IN city centre, which is better, as its not so touristy.. Lots of locals, which is always a good sign, and by the time were done eating, the lineup was huge, and we could see why After 3 days of venturing around city centre, where we stayed, and having standard type restaurants that you expect, catered to tourists, this... We had a great time at this restaurant. Great food. The meat was very tender and the each meal was excellent. Particularly liked the pork on a skewer. The staff were very helpfull and gave us compementary liquers at the end.

We were tipped off on Mariserra by one of our top notch bartenders while staying at the Sao Miguel Park hotel. During our 7 day visit we dined here twice, and each night was a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant is tidy and clean and the seafood was fresh and expertly prepared. My wife had steak, which was tender and... More

We discovered this restaurant accidentally, but never regretted eating there. The food and service was really good even if we have to wait for some time. We were amazed by the appearance of our food, it was pleasant for our eyes as well as our taste buds. The view was really nice facing the sea. All together it was a... More

Twice went to the restaurant and were shocked by the poor service twice. But this is probably explained by the bad work of management: lots of tables and a lot of visitors, and the waiters are sorely lacking. They are few and seems they are really trying, but can not well serve too many guests. Therefore, there are many difficulties... More

We came here on the advise of the front desk at our hotel The LInce. It is in the village of S. Roque 2 Km from the marina, but we had a car so it worked. The restaurant looks out over the ocean. The waiter recommended the mixed fish grill, which consisted of 4 different fish rice & vegetables. We... More

They have an extense menu, but are famous for fish. The grilled limpets and the mixed grilled fish we had were very good.

This place fuses continental portuguese cuisine w the freshest azorean ingredients, ie fish. The fish and seafood stews are the stars of the show for me, can't miss. they also serve some absolutely delicious "aguardente da casa" w an amazing plumb nose. Not the cheapest restaurant in sao miguel, well worth the few minutes drive from downtown. Owner is always... More

Simply the restaurant was jam packed for a reason. Our party of 6 loved the food. Bread, olives and cheese were nibbled while waiting for the mains. We ordered LARGE portions of tuna Salad, prawn & pineapple salad, pork with clams, skewer of monkfish and prawns and grilled squid filled with prawns, all great. Pictures of VIP's adorned the walls... More
