Description: Inside the Hotel building, "A Colmeia" is a reference of quality and innovation in the Azores gastronomy. The haunt cuisine and the innovation, based on the strong Azores gastronomic traditions, are the basis for the re-discovering of flavors and aroma of genuine Azores products, cooked with the art and the knowledge of its chefs. This was our best dinner in Ponta Delgada! A hidden gem located in the Colégio Hotel. We had grouper and salmon which was prepared to perfection and served over local vegetables. The service was impeccable, the food presentation was elegant, and the value amazing. We do not typically eat in hotel restaurants, however, we're so glad that we gave it... More

It's a quite good hotel restaurant and probably you won't need a reservation, you can walk in if you are "hungry and lost in the downtown" =) We started with salad, then had pasta and veggie food (they have a vegetarian section in menu) and finally desert. Salad was quite good 3-4 stars balanced flavor with small details like roasted... More

I ate at the cafe in the hotel collegio and at the location near the water. The latter has very spotty service, but they may be understaffed. It's a great spot for lunch. The fish and cucumber sushi is decent too, but be very specific. We asked for veggie sushi and got pineapple and strawberry sushi.

Friendly staff makes the difference. Simple yet varied menu. Open when other restaurants follow the lunch and dinner hours. Food is good but nothing special. The fish not as fresh as the patisserie. Recommended for trying out some local pastries with local green tea.

We were staying in the hotel and ate here twice. The food was generally very good, although the second time, one of the meats was not properly cooked - cold and underdone when it was supposed to be well done. However, this was quickly put right and we were given a glass of port each with our desserts. It certainly... More

My husband and I stayed three nights at the Hotel do Colegio and were lucky enough to find this restaurant right in our hotel. When we first arrived, after a long day traveling and direct from the airport, we did not feel like searching for a restaurant and so decided to have dinner right in our hotel. It was a... More

Went here on Christmas eve and we had a wonderful dinner. The restaurant had a prix fixe menu that was very well designed. There was wine paired with dinner and they just kept refilling our glasses throughout the meal which was an added bonus. The menu was quite creative and I would definitely recommend it to anyone in town.
