My cousin, who lives on the island, recommended us this restaurant. What a great night we had! As we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by an extremely friendly waiter. I was referenced to the Sao Pedro by the concierge at my hotel. The food was exquisite. The selection was large and carefully prepared. The owner should receive special kudos. He is high energy and takes the time to meet with and talk to all of his guests. Eating here was the best food that I had in the Azores.... More

I just got a Seafood bisque type soup which smelled a little fishy, but tasted delicious....a little more watery than I expected. My friend got a local fish filet wrapped in a pastry. It was superb. I got shrimp in a cream sauce that was also excellent. The service is really good; the place was empty because it was 3P... More

All we can say is WOW! A great meal in a nice quaint restaurant. In typical European fashion we enjoyed a leisurely meal that was cooked to perfection. My wife wanted white wine while I wanted red so we had to drink the house choices which were both quite good. They have a good wine list but are limited on... More

We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation but they fitted us in even though they seemed to be full and there was a large group just arriving. The food was excellent, calamari followed by a juicy fillet steak. The Curral Atlantis wine was also was a great accompaniment! Our waiter was also very attentive; when we ordered a liqueur... More

You can't go wrong dining here. It is top notch service with excellent food in the heart of the city. I would never go without a reservation. Prices are a little bit higher but then the quality of the food, ambience and service are also a little bit higher than 99% of the local restaurants.

During a recent visit in early April, this was one of our favorite restaurants. The restaurant is conveniently located one block off the main avenue by the harbor, a few blocks walk from our hotel, Marino Atlantico. My husband (a chef) and I enjoyed it so much the first time, we ate there three nights in a row out of... More

This is a lovely little restaurant with great service and good food. It was a very easy walk from our hotel (Marina Atlantico) and very close to the downtown area. It is just behind the San Pedro church. We went early (6pm) on a weekday (they open at 6), so the restaurant was pretty much ours. The waiter was attentive... More

We had lunch here and service was fine. There are picture menus in English and Portuguese. My husband had pasta (which is not featured on many local menus we saw) and I had beef with pineapple. The beef was very tender from local cows and side vegetables tasty. The only negative was the sauce was very salty, but otherwise a... More
