We were recommended to go here with two tween kids for lunch. Lots of local customers, limited menu with five good choices, excellent wine and hearty service. Someone in the kitchen really cares for food, obviously. We really enjoyed this lunch. The restaurant is rather dark and small, modern design but classical Portuguese black and white.

My husband and I went , on a recommendation of a friend for our anniversary, as you walk in it feels like a dark dingy, room with about 15 tables, one waiter and noisy chatter. We loved the wine but the rest of the food was not warm enough to eat, it took about an hour for two simple steak... More

This was a big disappointment, as it sets itself out to be special and was recommended by our guide. The owner greets you at the door dressed in a black and white outfit, which matches the modernist decor. The idea is that he serves all the food himself, working his charm on his guests. However, when all 15 tables are... More

There is more to a great restaurant experience than the food, which by the way was great (we had octopus and codfish). The owner tries to create a classy experience by choosing a black theme and Chet Baker in the background. But the room is so poorly lit it resembles a night club more than a restaurant. Some of the... More

What a wonderful character dishing up super food. This one man band does everything including finding time to chat and enjoy the evening. Do not be put off by the discoloured menu in the window, the chipped steps, the dark room with its black floor, black walls and even the chef dressed all in black. The candles provide an atmosphere, the... Azorean restaurant food in general is disappointing as they don't seem to know how to cook. Fried fish, boiled potatoes and lettuce with carrot slivers is the standard. If you find yourself asking why in place with backyard gardens full of fresh vegetables, unlimited fresh fish and cows everywhere you can't get a gourmet meal then you need to come... More

You need to get in the spirit if you go here, the chef is the server the somellier and the dish washer. But he is insanlly talented. Food is simple tasty... perfect. Get in let him pick, the food the wines and get on the journy. I went with a chef and a somellier Belge. We arrived he said he... More

Went there on our first night, the food was very good, especially the steak which was cooked to perfection and I enjoyed the octopus that got mixed reviews from my family. The chef was very attentive and passionate about what he was cooking to begin with, but as the place filled up it was clear that he needed some help.... More
