Great traditional food side dished with outstanding service. Economical meal in an uncommon environment. Highly recommended.

I'm originally from the Azores, from the island of Sao Miguel. I have been living in Los Angeles now for 14 years, but every year I go back to the Azores and visit my beloved island and try all the new restaurants and amazing cuisine. My father took me for the first time a couple years ago, to one of... More

Very modern interior with only room for 26. The chef is the only person there. He waits tables and cooks. The food was excellent and he did a good job with service. One thing that was a little unfortunate was that he was out of 4 main courses on the menu. Otherwise, an excellent meal --tuna with honey really nice.... More

With a wonderful atmosphere, a great service and some of the most delicious food prepared with care and taste. Overall one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, loved it and recommend it to anyone who enjoys great food in a wonderful environment.

Quite a unique place. Small with great atmosphere. Food is excellent and very moderately priced. Try it early in your holiday as you may want to repeat.

A talented chef. Who prepared wonderful food. Small but good menu. A sign that everything is made ala maison. We enjoyed several fish and meat dishes. All prepared with love. The winter wines handpicked by the chef were fine. All in all the best restaurant on soa Miguel. The island is beautiful and offers incredible ingredients for cooking but 99%... More

Having eaten mediocre meals at expensive places that were recommended for the last week and a half we tried here with trepidation. It was fantastic and I would recommend to anyone. My daughter is 10 and a very fussy eater but loved her chicken but desperately wants the fillet mignon next time after trying ours. The food is just no... More

We were recommended to go here with two tween kids for lunch. Lots of local customers, limited menu with five good choices, excellent wine and hearty service. Someone in the kitchen really cares for food, obviously. We really enjoyed this lunch. The restaurant is rather dark and small, modern design but classical Portuguese black and white.

My husband and I went , on a recommendation of a friend for our anniversary, as you walk in it feels like a dark dingy, room with about 15 tables, one waiter and noisy chatter. We loved the wine but the rest of the food was not warm enough to eat, it took about an hour for two simple steak... More
