One of the Best Meals We've Ever Had

The owner is a perfectionist but so happy and passionate about his food. We began with a generous pour of local wine (recommended by the owner). He next served a small salad that was subtly dressed. I ordered the grilled octopus that melted like butter in my mouth. My husband ordered the fish... read more

I went with my wife and we arrived at 19h30, when the restaurant opens. For 45m we where the only customers in place. The food and the service is absolutely incredible. We went for the "degustação menu" and the chef surprised us all the time. You do not go there to eat fast, in the end we stayed there for... More

Elegant place and good food. This place is staffed by one person, the chef. The service was not sacrificed even though he was by himself.

If you want to be surprised you must eat the fish pie and the octopus, it's divine, delicious and you want to come back. The suggested wine was macanita a white wine very soft and good. Ricardo it is a friendly owner and he is a one man show .

The charming chef explained to us that his a la carte menu was for the evenings - he was afraid that he had three options only for lunch - chicken, cod or vegetarian - so the three of us ordered all three. Impeccable cooking, each with a lovely salad and with rice, very quick service, and the adults enjoyed excellent... More

Boca de Cena was recommended by the owner of our B&B in Ponta Delgarda. It was said to be a young Portugese guy cooking very nice Portugese "nouvelle cuisine". It was amazing to see how this guy runs between the kitchen and the dining area to serve the guests. He gave advice to the menu and wine. The quality of... More

My daughter and I have been in Sao Miguel for almost a week and have relied heavily on trip advisor to choose the restaurants. We have not once been disappointed, and tonight was no exception. While it does seem like A "one man show" as some of the other reviews have indicated, it is an incredible one man show. This... More

This restaurant is a one man wonder. We were in the Azores for 3 nights near Easter and wanted to try it. The first night (Sunday) was the regular night they were closed. The second night (Monday) they were closed with Easterr holidays. Finally, on our last night (Tuesday) we came early without a reservation and were rewarded with an... More

Don't let the out of the way restaurant fool you. It's a little hard to find, but when you actually eat there, you will not be disappointed! The owner does everything himself - take orders, prepare the meals, wait tables, and even does the dishes. Expect to enjoy at meal at leisure - about 1 1/2 - 2 hours in... More

The restaurant was manned by the chef himself. I went there for dinner on a Thursday evening, and I could hardly get his attention. The service was slow and when the place was mindless. Very little ingredients on the menu available. I ordered something he recommended, but it turned out that the crust was burned due to his negligence. When... More
