Sorry, not a 5-star (but still worthwhile)

No, we have been at better places in Ponta Delgada. Too dark, you hardly see what's on your plate. Somewhat tasteless salad (but came "for free"). Spicy octopus as starter was "OK", just a bit too much bread under the fried baby octopus, and I would have preferred it to be crunchy. Main course... read more

Opens at 7pm and is across from the theater. My first impression when I walked in, too dark with the black walls. My cousin a local, assured the food was really good. 2 employees, chef and server and the service was fabulous. Salad is accompanied with every meal. We had the spicy calamari for a starter. I got the filet... More

What a treat! All 3 of us vote this the best of our 6 week stay in the Azores so far! I had tuna - perfectly cooked. Great vegetables. We also tried the pork tenderloin (excellent) and a special fish/shrimp in phyllo pastry - also excellent. The restaurant looks quite small and unassuming from the street but don't be fooled.... We had the degustation menu "2 starters, one dish". Shrimps, salad, EVERYTHING was perfect - and the tuna steak was a masterpiece. The wine was excellent, and the dessert was also great with a variety of cakes and a wonderful ice cream. The food and the very attentive and friendly service are worth at least 5 points.... We will go... More

We were welcomed by the somewhat shy but very kind host. After bringing us the menu he recommended a few dishes, the tuna and the octopus. We ordered gambas and scallops as a starter which were ok. For the main course we had the tuna and the chicken fillet in a coconut cream sauce. Despite it not being recommended the... More

Fantastic food! Tuna, octopus and roast beef with garlic were great choices. All 5 of us liked it. Very friendly personnel. Great price-quality.

One of the best meals I had in Europe, amazing tuna and crispy octopus very affordable, the chef pretty much does everything and always with a smile in his face, th wine was great as well, we did not have a reservation but we went early and it was a week day, I would recommend one tho.

Meals were very tasty, only downpoint was that the 'garnish food' was the same in the appetizer, starter and main. It isn't the most cosiest restaurant, but the food was very good!

We ate here after numerous meals in places on sao miguel island and its a fab find. By far the best meal we ate. It is tucked away but if you follow signs to the teatro it is on the lane at the front of the theatre. You will not be disappointed. Tuna melts in your mouth and my son... More

Just had an excellent meal, I had the beef and my husband had the tuna, both were exquisite. The service was exceptional, especially when considering the whole operation (cooking, waitering, front of house etc) was being done by just two people! Definitely the best food of our trip (by some way!). Go there!!!
