Peter's Cafe Sport is worth a visit, especially out of season when many other places are closed or deserted. But: do not count on their bathrooms! Why a place that makes so much money all year round would offer their customers such filthy and run down facilities, I really don't understand. -Don't you tend to draw conclusions on a restaurant's... Great prices, good food, lots of choice, atmospheric, busy...the place to head for in Horta. Better off inside ironically to view all the flags I think, rather than outside on the decking.

Horta is Land Ho for sailors achieving a wear-to-east crossing from the Americas to Europe. Peter Café Sport is often the chosen place for celebration, as it was a few years ago in our lives. In the intervening 13 years, Peter has kept the bar as it has been, filled with chairs convivially jammed together, customers placing their orders at... More

Busy even in the off season, this cafe offered a wide variety of menu choices and quick service. My Azorean salad was full of green veggies, fresh Azorean cheese, and tuna spread on toast squares. My husband had the black pasta with cream sauce topped with a large shrimp garnish. Flags and messages from passing sailors line the walls and... More

Being there in bad weather, feeling the atmosphere, great place. You smell the seventies. Mostly crowded. Not the best food. Let's call it fast food :-)

Staying in Hotel Do Canal, just along the road from Peter's Cafe Sport, I stopped off for a drink and a meal a few times during my time in Horta. The shaded terrace across the street allowed for good views over the harbour and, when clear, across to the fine volcano on Pico. There was a lot of activity in... More

Lively pub style but was very impressed with their selection of music - eclectic. The played cool jazz and easy listening which we loved. We had a few good meals here and would recommend that if you are in Horta give it a visit.

If you are in Horta be sure to visit the Peter Cafe Sport but do not expect too much! It is really worth to see the interior with all the sailor stuff inside. Unfortunately the waiters are really slow or better to say: the Cafe is not organized at all. The fastest way to get a drink is going to... More

It was great being in Peter's Cafe, the food is good and the gin is cheap. The service was slow but did not worried about it because I could enjoy the view to Pico and the marina. So a must know place.
