Not a bad feed

The lunch special was a cod dish (of course) for 9 Euros, and it was tasty. I wanted local dishes, and this fit the bill. The place itself is a little dingy, with all kinds of banners and flags turning yellow all over the walls and ceilings, but I guess that is what attracts a lot of people.

This place is a must if you have the time, a living museum in fact and bursting with maritime atmosphere. It was very busy as always I fear but after finding a seat service was quite prompt. The food had much to be desired as the soup was very watery with little or no flavour, luke warm and served with... More

Finally got in for dinner on the third night - what a disappointment. The pork was not fully cooked - so rare the waitress didn't even need me to say what was wrong. 2nd cooking was done. No comps - No apologies for poor preparation after waiting an hour for a table. Take our advice and stick to lunch or... More

we took the ferry from Island to Island and this was our last stop...you need a day to explore Horta but the cafe is something you will never forget...and you must have the Gin and Tonic. Beware that when its rough the ferries can make you seasick. They have barf bags everywhere....but the planes do not go everywhere and sometimes... More

Not many charismatic places in Horta to go, this being one of them. You can eat and drink, but variety of drinks is not great (good gin tonic!) and meals are average.

Pete's bar has the character. Reputation and location overlooking Horta harbour. They also have live music during weekends. The food is good, the beer plentiful and sailing tales abound. Lots of memorabilia and people watching. Beneath the facade lies what is basically a Wetherspoons type pub, hence only a four star review.

Many sailors drink and dine at Peter's Café and they are very interesting to talk to... We enjoyed the limpids and the reasonably priced drinks.

There is plenty to look at when you enter this cafe bar - The service is shockingly bad, not only slow, but forgetful. Just as well the food is good and there are plenty of interesting characters there to keep you entertained.
