This is the most famous restaurant / bar in Horta city. However it has lost the quality of its original owner and the restaurant is average and a bit pricely. With a lot of customers, you have to wait a lot or go try another restaurant.

Friendly waiters, but we had to wait very long for our meal. Once we got something to eat, the starters and main course were served at once. Don't seem to have a system. Waiters keep crossing the street from the café to the terras, even with only 1 glass. Food was good though, with a nice view.

In contrasts to others the service was great when I went to dine at Peter's. The waiter was entertainingly making a couple of jokes, served fast, additional drinks were served quickly and the "black pasta with shrimps" I ate was delicious. The atmosphere inside is unique, as you could stay there for hours looking at the different signs, souvenirs etc... More

Not good to eat or to drink. The gin drinks are not good (if you appreciate gin). They don't serve at the terrace and you need to cross the street with your food and/or drinks. Go there just to see the café (which is cute) and the museum.

We really enjoyed Peter's - the service was really good, as was the menu - particularly the fish. The bar is good fun with lots of nautical references and flags, but is on the verge of being cheesy. It caters primarily for tourists and prices accordingly at broadly double the price of anywhere else on the island we ate at.

This bar is a landmark in Faial famous for its Gin. However it has long lost the quality of its original owner and the gin is average and the service is very poor. I advise to visit the museum next door to the bar with scrimshaw pieces and pass by the bar only to see the decorations. Go for drinks... More

The mystical atmosphere takes us to a world of travels. The limpets, the fried potatoes and the gin were top. Enjoy it

We popped in for lunch during Sea Week (a busy time in Horta), expecting Peters Bar to be too busy for us, but no, there was a table waiting. Service was prompt and friendly , as in previous visits on a holiday two years ago, and the food was good. There is a relaxed vibe despite the occasional tourist coming... More
