Azoerean oasis in the middle of an Atlantic oasis

I had read about 'Casa' on Tripadvisor, and it was written by a previous traveller, that would have gone here often, if they had not first found the place the night before their departure, so I did as told, and they were right! I bought a double espresso, jug of tea, piece of cake, glass of Kima... read more

Great tea, coffee, cake, beer, wine, gin,cake....and other food if you get that far down the options! Good music, fantastic hospitality, multi-lingual team and good internet. Why would you go anywhere else? Well at the very least you should try this place first!

I visited Casa Teahouse twice during my stay in Horta in late summer. At first it was a bit confusing to find, as when I did my pre-holiday research I found that Tripadvisor listed two such places on different streets, one of which I failed to find when I was in Horta. However, what turned out to be a duplicate... More

This teahouse has a room with a wonderful selection of tasteful teas and blends (dozens of them) at an average price of just 2€. Excelent service (thw owner is very very friendly and knows a lot about the teas he sells). Also, the snacks are very nice (we had two excelent cheese toasts) as well as the selection of natural... As English tea lovers we got a little desperate (the local tea is weak and milk is UHT)…so headed for the Casa (tea house). We fell in love with the place, the tea and the CAKE! The almond and chocolate cakes were absolutely delicious-all homemade by the owners Mum….a fabulous oasis the middle of Horta. A must.

A nice little cafe near the Jesuit church, the tea selection is broad, high quality and properly made. The cakes have that made-from-scratch taste. Plus the free WiFi has a strong, steady signal. A nice place to relax, get some caffeine and answer email. Nothing spectacular here, just well done in what it does.

The garden at the Teahouse is full of exotic flowers and plants. We had a good cup of tea, sandwiches and homemade cake. All very friendly people and a wonderful atmosphere.

Slightly odd place - like sitting in someone's garden but the food was lovely and the owner friendly and helpful. Had a lovely cocktail and plates of 'tapas'.

Not easy to find, but worth asking about. This place will charm you, and we wished we'd found it sooner. The tasty treats and teas were just delightful, but we also fell in love with the garden'y, comfy, almost Asian atmosphere. We'd have gone back many times had we discovered it before our last night on the island. Don't miss... More
