Nice place for lunch

Stopped for lunch on a recent visit to the Western Algarve. Great views. Plenty of room to eat inside or out with some welcomed shade this time of year. My husband had a plate of the day, stuffed squids which were presented in a traditional earthenware pot. They looked and smelt delicious. While I... read more

After reading some of the comments before we went, although some of them were negative we had to try it as it was so close to our hotel. The location was over looking the harbour, not a particular pretty harbour but a working one. It was good to see the fishing trawlers retuning with their catch. The sardine pate came... More

This restaurant mainly specialises in fish , rightly so as it looks right over the port in Sagres - however I was a bit fished out so I had a lovely piri piri chicken with fries and salad - simple but v nice - 1/2 a chicken jointed and cooked on the charcoal grill. My husband had Cataplana - algarve... More

Went here for dinner with my girlfriend. She ordered a caipirinha to drink and the waiter replied with "this is not the kind of place for that--you order caipirinhas at the bars, not here". He then yelled across the patio to his colleague and continued to belittle and make fun of her beverage request to him. Inexcusable service. The "view"... More

Just okay food in a great location right at the port. Nothing was wrong, but nothing stood out for us, either. The cataplana was nice, but another diner's prawns were overcooked, and a pepper steak was drowned in a bland cream sauce. A shame, because the location is perfect. If you go there expecting it to be "ok", you will... More

It was our last night on holiday in sagres and as it was so local and we hadn't been there yet (hotel recommended it) we booked a table. The views are amazing, shame about the food and service. I don't think our waiter had smiled in about 20 years... I had a small lobster that was very pricey and the... More

Great food, lovely location. Lots of outstide space and still able to sit in the shade if required. Recommended to others too who really enjoyed it.

Sardine pate, was served in a can, which I had to open myself. We joked about cat food. Main courses were catch of the day and Cod fish, the latter was served with burnt garlic and 2 undercooked potatoes. For dessert, husband chose creme brulee, which arrived as a frozen ice cream base with a sticky toffee type topping...yuck. Not... More

On a trip along the coast of the ALgarve we wanted to go for lunch and passed through Sagres. After driving to the harbour which was a dead end we drove back and saw this restaurant with a view over the harbour and the sea. The weather in May was great so we could sit outside. My wife and I... More

Called in on a lunchtime and found that the 2 waiting staff were over stretched by the number of customers so waited a long time for orders to be taken. Sardines were frozen - not local (very confusing as there's a big port right in front of us!), and the fish on display had a 'tired' look about them. However,... More
