Dine in an Olive Pressing Mill.

The restaurant Museu do Lagar, Loulé is located in the Placa (square) do Matriz where, if you are lucky you might find parking. If not, go back out under the arch and turn right onto the Rua Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco, then take the first right. After about 100 metres on the left is the entrance to... read more

Hidden in the old part of Loule , this Historic Olive Mill is just that little bit different to dine out in, the service is good and friendly, the food is good and not expensive, however, as is normal in Portugal the plates are never warmed before hot food is placed on them, hence you can end up with warm... A bit off the beaten track in the Old town of Loule. Traditional interior. Good and friendly service and good simple 'homely' dishes. Also great for children with lots of room to play around. There is also terrace in the front and ample parking near the church.

Having heard good reports my wife and I went for lunch. The restaurant was very dark and only two other tables were occupied. The couvert of bread, olives and aioli was fine, as was the hard goats cheese we ordered. My pork and clams was fine but needed more sauce and seasoning. The rump steak that my wife received was... This restaurant is very good and has a menu full of surprises.. One thing: during winter it is somewhat cold in there, despite several gas heaters.

Offers typical and genuine portuguese dishes. Ordered rabbit stew and it was awesome! Local wine was very good. Staff was nice and very helpful explaining the dishes. Nicely decorated restaurant: extremely quaint.

If you're looking for a very fancy place to be seen and to see socialites, this is the wrong kind of fancy place. But if you want genuine and wonderful food, in a beautiful and very Portuguese environment, this is it. I was there on several occasions for lunch and dinner. The lunch is simple and you chose between 2... More

Visited this restaurant several years ago and thought we would give it another go. 7 of us ate there and none of us were bowled over by the service or the food. The presunto (starter) came long after we had finished the bread and cheese, so had to order more bread. 3 people ordered the Salmon for their main meal,... More

We visited the restaurant for a special occasion with family after walking past it. This restaurant was disappointing to say the least. Painfully slow service (there were only 3 tables!) and distinctively average food. We will not be returning, which is a shame because the restaurant had such potential.

Maybe non-Portuguese visitors have different standards...but this is nothing more than an average restaurant: Service is friendly OK...but forgetful and slow; the food is nothing to bragg about (but not bad....), proces are OK (42 € dinner for 3 people) Nice terrasse outside, just close to the Igreja Matriz. Very quiet and pleasant. Would I go back? Well, probably not,... More
