This place packs them in...I wouldn't say anyone there was very friendly...but the food is good and fresh and you get a good portion...it's in a dusty parking lot in the Marina...but you really should go there if you have plenty of time...just for the food and experience...just expect anyone to smile or be of any real service there...

We have been coming here sporadically for years, and there definitely has been a change, as well as the prices, in the last year or so, with staff having changed. I can't say it is the best grilled fish in town for me, but it is basic and fun to be there. At this time of year there is often... More

We went here for lunch on the recommendation of a local. Basic restaurant and had to wait for a table as it was very busy. Difficult to catch the attention of the staff. However, fish was delicious - cooked beautifully but large portions! Thought the accompanying potatoes were good too. Reasonably priced so would recommend for an unpretentious lunch or... More

Living in Lagos, one is spoilt with so many places to eat - eat fresh, well, have good wine and not spending a fortune. I have always loved Bar da Lota, whether for a morning strong coffee, sharing the wooden tables with the fishermen that had spent all night out on the ocean, and came there for a glass of... More

The place has had a facelift since last year, probably under new ownership as the staff have changed. Still great fish, reasonably priced in simple surroundings. Visit number six guaranteed, next year

Very tasty fresh fish, a bit too salty though. Very informal setting at long tables. Reservations needed as this place gets extremely crowded.

Tucked away, looking for all intents like a cheap café with wooden trestle tables and very basic seating arrangements, parallel to the railway station in Lagos........don't be fooled! For unpretentious, tasty Portuguese fayre look no further. Beautifully cooked meat dishes and superb FRESH fish and seafood you couldn't do better anywhere else. The spider crab is just delicious and served... More

Had lunch here because it was close to the train station. Had the best salmon ever! We ended coming back for dinner three nights in a row. Much better than any other restaurant in town and reasonably priced well. Best seafood we had in Portugal! Great staff, very friendly!

Simple fresh food cooked well. Menu is written on the blackboard and fish is served with potatoes and the best salad we had on our holiday. Good house wine by the jug. We had Dorada and Sea Bass - both delicious. People having the mixed fish were being constantly offered extra grilled fish. This is definitely our favourite fish restaurant... More

Had an excellent lunch here. The mixed seafood was very tasty and excellent value. All fish is done on the bbq. Contrary to what some people said - we found the restaurant very easily. It is opposite the Lagos station.
