Lovely home cooked food and great service

My partner and I were staying at The Forte do Vale apartments and this lovely restuarant was just down the road. It is a family run business with the mother doing the cooking and the son providing great service, together with his female assistant(who may also be a relative). The menu was varied... read more

We ate at this family run restaurant 4 times and every meal was greatly enjoyed. We were received and served by a very friendly staff. The decor is Portuguese typical. It was nice to have real linen on the table. The portions were just right, the wine selection was very good and the complimentary port after the meal was much... More

The food here was very good. It was a family run business and the cook was the mother of the family. Son and step sister were very welcoming. Nice to see table covers with real napkins. You must try the meat lasagne it was the best I have ever tasted. My husband is an excellent cook but he took the... More

Arriving late we found the nearest restaurant to our hotel other than the one in the Forte do Vale itself. We found the Expresso to be friendly, good value and unpretentious. To be blunt Portuguese cuisine isn't wildly exciting but given similar menus at most places you could do a lot worse than try this place. You can for example... More

A delayed flight resulted in two hungry tummies so a short walk from our hotel took us here. We each had pork and beef kebab which came with beautifully cooked home made chips. Reasonably priced and with excellent wine choices. Worth a try.

Visited this restaurant 3 times now and we haven't even been in Albufeira a week yet! We're staying at the Tropical Sol and just found it by chance in the same road. The staff are lovely and welcoming, very knowledgeable and helpful. The first night we had steak, egg & chips, which was reasonably priced. The second time we had... More

Loved everything about this place, the food, the atmosphere & the staff who were lovely. Will definitely be back next time we are in the Algarve. Thanks for everything especially putting up with my husband's attempt at speaking Portuguese.

Dined here in November. Good restaurant , well presented with excellent service. Very pleased with the food, very tasty and reasonably priced. Had starter of creamy mushrooms on toast ( lovely ) , followed by a pasta dish. The staff were extremely pleasant and attentive. We were offered a complimentary brandy or port at the end of the meal. We were staying at Forte do Vale so this restaurant is only a few minutes down the street. The staff is very pleasant, the food is well prepared and good value. We had dinner here at least twice. A complimentary glass of port is offered at the end of your dinner.
