After some time, finally returned to the Museu dos Salgados, and my expectations were exceeded once more. The menu has a fantastic choice from starters through to desserts. Always difficult to choose what to have, a matter made easier with 3 very enjoyable visits while staying in the Algarve. The Monkfish and Prawn Cataplana, very fragrant and was excellent and... The food is typical portuguese, with a little twist of fusion. The warm bread is great, and The meat is absolutely delicious.

This is a very good restaurant, and probably the best walking distance option for someone that stay's at the Herdade dos Salgados hotels. The service is impecable and the food is also very good and varied. I just loved the desert (Leite-creme)

Great food, served by genuinely friendly people. The speciality here is obviously going to be fish, but I recommend the Trio Chefe and the Filet Robalo in particular. Terrific local wines too. Starters tend to be under 7 euros, man courses maybe 15 to 17 euros, about the same for wine. Usually closed on a Sunday evening (or at least... More

Portuguese food tends to be fairly plain, but if you like your sauces, this is the place to come. Great chef, super sommelier, what are you waiting for...

Over our two meals we had some wonderful food, the goats cheese starter was absolutely amazing as was the seafood trio and the... More

My wife and I have just had the most amaaazing meal at the museu dos salgados, we were assured that all ingredients were not only fresh but local and cooked to order, the standard of the food sure lived up to the hype, and the frobt of house attention was superior to most I've experienced both home and abroad, this family... Went to both Restaurants mid of November. Have been in both cases the only guests..;-) The difference was immense. Personal recommendations for the wine, very nice chatting with the waiter and the chef, excellent food and a nice personal atmosphere in the museo di salgados vs. Piri piro with no taste, boring waiters, paper table cloth and an atmosphere like...
