Drinks

This is abeautifully set hotel and very attentive staff. We turned up for drinks a few nights as there's no other place in the area with quite the same ambiance! Fantastic piano music or classic records played to the sound of the ocean in the background. Fantastic wine selection also!

I have known Villa Joya for 10 years... I have worked there, dined there and spend nights in the rooms. In this last 10 years I have visited the Vila each time that I came to Portugal and of course its always a lovely experience to see some of the people that never left, the owners and the chef. However,... More

We visited Vila Joya for a couple of nights this month. This is an expensive place to stay but the bonus of having a reservation at the 2 Michelin Star restaurant (subsidised for those who stay) is a huge bonus. The views from this swish, well manicured boutique hotel are magnificent. There is a small private beach and a glorious... More

Came away with a smile of contentment , each course was devine, the amuse bouches and additional deserts just added to the experience . We asked the sommelier to choose the wines to accompany each course and they were indeed a perfect compliment . For something special you need look no further

My husband and I came here to celebrate on our honeymoon and the food was excellent. There were numerous amuse bouches and extra desserts, all of which were unique and delicious. The presentation was fantastic. They were even able to modify the menu (called for in advance) so that there were only fish/vegetable ingredients (being a pescetarian), which was nice.... More

Just finished dinner at Vila Joya - we enjoyed the tasting menu with wine (for me, not my pregnant wife, much to her disappointment) The menu was completely understated. a few ingredients were listed which gave no hint at all of the spectacular display of cooking to come. The highlights (apart from the enigmatic assistant matre'd) were the cep with... More

We have eaten here a number of times in recent years and have always found it an excellent experience The setting looking out to sea, and the food are memorable Unfortunately on this occasion the service whilst good, wasn't quite good enough. Hopefully this was just an off-day

My husband and I live in the western Algarve for half the year and for my birthday he decided to treat us to lunch at Vil Joya, some 45 minutes drive from our home. I had read reviews and noted the Michelin ** rating and although we have dined in several similarly rated restaurants in the UK, few could match... More

Our first visit to Vila Joya was a fantastic experience. 3 hours of superb food served by brilliant staff over 6 courses with some chef's treats to start and also in between courses. We will definitely go there again on our next visit to this area of Portugal..

We visited Vila Joya last night and I have to say, we were very impressed with the food and the service. For dinner, they serve a fixed degustation menu that changes daily. They seemed happy enough to change individual dishes if there was an issue but that didn't come up with us. We started with an array of amuse bouches,... More
