Everything a restaurant should be in Alentejo

Small an cozy restaurant, in old town Évora. The servings are generous so 2 servings for 3 persons is more than enough. Great meat, try the "secretos de porco preto with migas (soaked alentejano bread fried in olive oil with coriander and garlic) " or the "lombinho de porco preto with french... read more

We tried several restaurants during our stay in Evora, and this little place in a hidden street was by far the best. The cauliflower migas and the spinach soup were exquisite, but all the other dishes were really tasty as well. As a plus, they brew a great capuccino, which was a pleasant surprise after some less satisfying coffees in... More

This restaurant had signs that lead us to a small location that proved to have a very intriguing interior. The food was traditional, plentiful and fantastic.

We came across this place for lunch, the food was great- the wine was brilliant and the price was good. Very friendly staff who did there all to help, we liked this place so much we went back for dinner! I bought a couple of wines to go- absolutely wonderful can't recommend highly enough.

I visited this restaurant with my family on our summer holidays. It's not too far from giraldo, food and staff are ok. Our dinner cost us about 12/14 € per person, and we liked of we got for that price (soup, water, bread, cheese, main courses, desserts and coffee). It was not our best meal at evora, but was good... We got the recommendation from our hotel to eat at this restaurant. We went to have lunch at St. Luis and were extremely happy with the food, wine and the service. We were a party of 6 and all of our food was extremely delicious. The waiter was very friendly and made sure we were all satisfied with our choices.... More

We were recommended to eat here and were glad of that - we wouldn't have found it ourselves. This is authentic Alantejo food and wine, good food with good service. We were in quite early but it filled up with local people - always a good sign.

Thoroughly recommend, lovely hosts and staff, excellent food and great atmosphere. Good choice of local and traditional dishes and an amazing array of local delicacies to start your meal. Good choice of local wines. Prices were excellent, will definitely go back again. Book in advance as it's a very popular and busy restaurant.

Restaurante S. Luis was highly recommended by our hotel, Pensao Residencial Policarpo, as an authentic Portuguese restaurant away from the tourist area; it took a bit of effort to find but once found, it was a gem. The interior of the property was interesting, modern but rustic, appeared to be a renovated storage facility or barn (had a pulley on... More

This restaurant was recommended by the staff at our hotel, and they provided a map to find this somewhat hidden place. This was our first meal in Portugal, so we made the mistake of paying for appetizers we didn't want. Other than that, the meal was great with an abundance of food and excellent house wine. The highlight of the... More
