Good for a family lunch

The food was better than average on quantity, however my 'acorda a alentejana' had no taste so I was disappointed. It is a very dark place and the menu is always the same. Not really a traditional place based on the menu, thats really what we can get everywhere around south of Portugal. However... read more

Whilst we enjoyed this restaurant we did not find it exceptional in any particular way except that it was very good value for money. Four of us had dinner with wine for 50 euro. It was recommended by our hotel partly on the grounds of proximity.Very nice wine poured from the cask.

We arrived early and were the first in. The waiter explained the menu of 12 dishes in good English (and subsequently we heard in French as well). We went with his recommendation for 3 of us, the tomato soup (with an egg and slices various pork sausages) followed by the lombinho of black pork and the pork with clams. All... More

We went because we were craving a pizza and Trip Advisor shows they serve pizza. After hearing about all the wonderful dishes, we told our server that it all sounded great but we really came for their pizza. No pizza! However the food was great! And the prices were relatively reasonable.

The is a great local restaurant with a very rustic environment and authentic vibe. It is definitely a family operation and they really try to please. The tomato soup with sausage is excellent and the black pork is very good. You can order wine, which comes right out of the barrel and is both very good and inexpensive. I will... More

We arrived for lunch on a Saturday and the place was quite busy with tourist and a lot of locals. The decor is very quaint with checkers tablecloths, old wine barrels, bottles of wine, farm equipment and servers in blue jeans and checkered shirts. The restaurant is larger than you might think. Our server spoke a few languages and was... More

Our hotel recommended this place, and we differed sharply on it. It is a large, rustic type of place. Our server recommended that we order three of the house specialities to share--tomato soup with sausage, black pork, and a sort of mixed grill. I liked them all pretty well, but my fellow diners were all under impressed. I'm writing the... More

Recommended by the staff at the ADC Hotel, this restaurant wouldn't have been found by chance. You have to go down a narrow, dimly lit street, and there's just a small sign outside, and nothing else to indicate there's a restaurant inside. You open the door to a rustic décor, with red checked tablecloths and wooden wine barrels. There is... More

This was a restaurant recommended by a very good "foodie" friend, and whilst I should say I think I chose the wrong dish for me in retrospect, I would definitely recommend it for several key reasons: the atmosphere is really good and relaxed, the service is very friendly - and efficient without being "in your face", i.e. there exactly when...
