We had read about this place in a guidebook and had a really good meal here. Their pork dishes in particular are excellent. We splurged with the appetizers and really enjoyed the olives. The place is casual, a little rustic. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The wine is served in jars that are filled from casks - excellent... More

I first went to this restaurant about 9 years ago, and have very find memories of the food. Since then, much life has happened. I took my wife there, with fingers crossed that it would still be the special place that I remembered. Thankfully, it was as I recalled. Straightforward pork dishes, wonderful tomato stew, and a hard working waiter/owner.... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel as an informal one with good regional food. Excellent English spoken. Majority of the dishes were pork in one form or another, although there was one veal dish and one fish dish. Not a place to go if you are vegetarian! Food was excellent, and including cover charge for bread and olives, half... More

What a deal! The owner is great, the setting is quaint, we watched our wine being poured from the barrel. The owner recommended that we split the tomato soup and split the pork, potatoes and clams. Both were delicious and the best we have had throughout our month long trip. Oh yeah...two dinners, a half carafe of red wine, a... More

Portugal is such a nice country! We lunched and dined in simple pastelarias and restaurants and were never disappointed. In this nice restaurant with a rustic ambience, we really had a great meal. The owner advised us not to chose too much and we shared first and second course, starting with their famous tomato soup/stew. Our main course was the... More

We've been sent there by our hotel guy. This time it worked well. The place is rustic, charming, the owner is kind and fast. Try the black pork, the tomato soup and all the rest. The wine of the house comes from a barrel and is also good. Go, eat and relax.

We stumbled upon this charming restaurant shortly before they were going to close for the afternoon but they welcomed us in anyways. The owner was so friendly and helpful, explaining the menu to us. We had the loin of the "porco preto" and the pork with clams, and both were excellent!!!

Lovely restaurant, interior is rustic and the food is delicious. We had the tomato soup, a local speciality. It comes as a huge portion. Then the pork with clams, very good. The owner explains the menu and suggested what to have. Excellent long lunch on a rainy day in Evora. Overall would definitely recommend.

Country decor with wine barrels, agricultural implements and red and white checkered tablecloths. The Portuguese menu was translated for us in details by the host, the food was wonderful and so was the house wine. Try the sea bass.
