I wen there as a friend recommended. The food was quite bland, I had better typical alentejo dishes in Lisbon than at this place. The prices were not high but the entrées were too expensive. My hotel recommended Adega do Alentejano so I chose it for my first dinner in Evora. Great choice. Carlos was a friendly and efficient host. He recommended the famous tomato soup. We had a memorable dinner here. Carlos was extremely honest about the size of the portions and his specialties, so we shared a tomato soup ( but added an extra poached egg!) which was just delicious! The owner was very helpful in advising us on the menu. We had excellent starters and shared the enormous tomato soup and pork with clams both of which were really enjoyable. The wine was straight from the barrel and very good. The atmosphere was good and authentic; a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Friendly welcome and good Presunto from black pigs. Best Sopa de tomate - rustic, bready, oily, home to a hard poached egg, served with salami chunks- absolutely delicious.

This restaurant gives you the local flavor. Our waiter reads from the daily menu written on a chalk board. I tried the tomato soup which I read was a must-try. This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and the reviews seemed great. We tried the tomato soup, which was a house specialty and the sea bass. The waiter was helpful in explaining the menu to us. We were there for a wonderful lunch. The owner wears a red-checked shirt to match the table cloths. We let him bring menu items he suggested and was most proud of serving. We had a rich, hearty tomato soup and pork prepared with clams.
