Let me start off by saying: I am 32 y.o. and this might have been one of the best meals I have had so far! Lonely Planet listed this restaurant mentioning something like "the guests love the Chef" so I was quite curious but wasnt expecting much. Service was as great as I am used to, and it was definitely... More

Dom Joaquim is generally acknowledged as one of the best restaurants in Evora. It was recommended to us several times during our stay. We passed on the hors d'ouvres placed on the table and instead ordered hot first courses. The mushrooms with ham were particularly tasty. For the mains, I had partridge stewed with vegetables which I really enjoyed. The... More

Our hotel recommended the Dom Joaquim amongst others. We dropped in early without a booking (7:30pm) and got a table (just) and had an excellent meal by sharing two main courses (highly recommend the slow cooked lamb) and desert. The mains are large so watch out about having too many tapas plates before. Send the ones back you don't want... More

I really appreciate my meal and all the time I was here. In fact, I was here not for once but 3 times.. The atmosphere is very familiar, the owner (Mr. Joaquim) is a very nice person and very professional too... He knows what he is doing and have a very good knowledge of wines. The food is very typical... More

We had a very good meal at Dom Joaquim. It was interesting to discover the 'gin culture' in Portugal - we were expecting Port and local wines to be predominant! The meal seemed very representative of Portuguese cuisine - olives, cheese and tender pork and lamb.

Warm, friendly atmosphere, great service (I am a celiac and was given breaded fish by mistake, replaced with apologies with an excellent broiled sea bass). My wife very enjoyed her pork cataplana. But the kicker was the homemade honey and olive oil ice cream with toasted almonds. Sounds odd but was very, very good.

Great petiscos... apetizers... very tasty ! Off course they have a large selection but you only pay what you eat. They do not allow smoking any more that was the only main critic this place had ... Now it will rocket to the top 3 here Where it belongs

The decor is stylish, not the typical regional restaurant, the tables are not on top of one another. The prices are a little higher then the average, but the portions were large, having a starter you can split a meal and still have plenty. Contrary to the usual the several small cold starters were not on the table, the waiter... More

We had a Sunday lunch at Dom Joaquim. Good to remind they are closed at Sundays for dinner, as most restaurants are in Evora at Sunday evening. The Sunday lunch seems tot be populair, the place was packed. At entering you can see all the prices en recommendations (several from Michelin bib gourmand) they have earnend. They serve, as in...
