We tried twice to get a seat at this place, as it is really tiny (9 persons) and they don't make reservations. Domingos and Florbela own the restaurant and make you feel you were invited to their home, as he suggests the best options and she cooks in front of you. It was really worth it, Domingos was a great... More

this was our first meal in Evora. I give it only 4 stars as the price is a bit for the area. It is more of a tapas bar then a restaurant and all the small snacks taste great but the price adds up. It is worth a visit if you have time. It is very small so go early... More

My 2nd visit to this establishment did not disappoint! Thankfully we have been here before and did not pay any attention to the last review which could lead you to believe that you would have to go to the 'rough part of the city' and be 'in fear' of being 'stolen' I highly recommend the scrambled eggs with asparagus for... We went to this restaurant because it is rated as number 1 in Evora, but we were sorry to see that it is located in a rough area of the city that made us be afraid of being stolen. Anyway, when we got there, we heard loud music bursting out of the building, once we realised the noise did not... More

The Restauranteur is full of life and banter - everyone at the small bar interacted as he served sublime dishes. Would definitely come back-had a great time!!

I can't stop visiting this amazing place. Mr. Domingos, the owner, is fantastic. This time I ate "Lombinhos de porco preto" as main meal. For starter I had baked goat cheese, mushrooms and a glass of good wine. Lovely.

Excellent food. Typically Portuguese as it should be. Cosy space and nice staff. Definitely a place to recommend and to visit again

Botequim da Mouraria (botequim is an old Portuguese term that means tavern or watering hole for bohemians) only has 12 bar style seats. Domingos, the owner & waiter & sommelier & expert in local food greets you personally and then waits from behind the bar. While the food is good, we were not as impressed as other reviewers. The service,... More

There's a reason this place is ranked number one! This place doesn't take reservations so we were lucky to get a table! Judging by how the kitchen closed by 9.30pm I think that usually these lucky to get in are the only ones who will get served that night, so come early - people start lining up about 20 minutes... Can only add to what predecessors have said; only 10 folks when we dined - us 2 Brits, 2 x 2 Italiano, 2 Dutch and 2 Norwegians. We all knew each other by meal end, and Domingos and his wife were extremely hospitable. Best veal steak eaten in 20 years....
