We called in to have an evening meal and were asked if we had booked, to which came the reply " if youcan come back in about an hour we may be able to fit you in." We walked out even though there were many tables vacant and went elsewhere.

Six of us were staying at a nearby campsite when we made this find. Wnat a little gem in the heart of the countryside. It is a beautiful building in a beautiful village. We were made very welcome by the friendly landlord, who puts his heart and soul into the place which is obvious. The roaring log fire was very... More

Excellent meal at the Bell. Smoked Haddock with horseradish and salmon sauce and a poached egg on top. My husband had the scampi and my aunt the fish and chips. We were so full we could not face a desert but I am sure they would be delicious. Excellent decaffeinated coffee and the beer is Adnams and gravity fed (straight... More

The Pub was recommended by the B/B where we were staying. Normally I would not eat in pubs because I don't like paying for frozen food. On entering the pub we were greeted by very friendly staff and landlord. On seeing the menu my first thought was that the prices were a little steep for a pub. There was a... More

Just hd lunch here with a friend for the first time in about 6 or 7 years. I understand hands have changed many times in that time. I kept hearing rave reviews about this place from family and friends and have looked at reviews on here too. Well all I can say is, they are all absolutely correct. Run by... More

Our benchmark eatiing place has to be The Recruiting Sergeant in Horstead in Norfolk. But the Bell is a close second!! we like the open fire and the generous portions of food. Only once have we had a dodgy meal there, and told the staff about.

A lovely welcoming local inn. We had a great, well cooked Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. The portions were generous and there was a lot of variety on the plate - think I counted 9 different vegetables with my roast beef and Yorkshire pudding! The staff were helpful and friendly, they had a lovely roaring fire going and were... More
