Lovely meal

We visited this pub while staying at local campsite. In this area it sounds as if pubs are quite booked out for friday and saturday nights so best to book if you can get signal! We both enjoyed our meals it was beautifully presented and great quality. I had hoped fires would be lit, it must be cosy... read more

We dined at the Staffordshire Knot as a foursome. It is just a 15 minute drive from Buxton. We had booked in advance, and would recommend anybody to do this to avoid disappointment. The staff were all friendly and we were able to enjoy drinks before our meals arrived. One of us had the vegetarian option, two had rack of... More

We are regulars at The Knot and Jacqui is still queen of the kitchen. The rack of lamb on a bed of pea puree with a side of minted bearnaise sauce was excellent and I would defy you to find better. We both had the bread and butter pudding to follow which is so good with the whisky sauce and... More

Off the beaten track, in a small village higher up than the surrounding area, this is more of a London top end restaurant than a drinkers pub. After watching a spectacular sunset outside, the cosy warm interior was welcoming. The food was of a high quality and superbly cooked. The brie pastry starter devine and the lamb tender as you... First and foremost, the food here is truly brilliant. Homemade, delicious and filling. I had the rack of lamb whilst my girlfriend enjoyed her sirloin steak (medium, rare) both of us were blow away by the quality presented to us whilst the price remained at a very reasonable price. Upon entering our drinks order was swiftly taken and we were... More

Well what can I say about this charming pub in situated in beautiful scenery, The Staffordshire Knot in Sheen Is an absolute delight and I couldn't be more pleased with our visit earlier today. The pub has a rather elegant, cosy feel about the place, with log fires and kept very tidy and clean, (I always hate messy bars!). The... More

My husband had noticed this restaurant had been positioned the 4th best place to go for a meal on Valentines Day in the local newspaper, this couldn't be anymore further from the truth! It would be unfair not to say at this point that the food was very good, however the service / atmosphere wasn't so much!? When we arrived... More

We were staying in Alstonefield for the weekend with friends and decided to try this pub for our second nights meal. It is quite remote and on the night we were in was very quiet. But where is came into itself is the quality of the food, freshly cooked by the Owner and Chef Jacquie. All 4 of us throughly... More
