We came across this delightful restaurant pub after a gorgeous days walk in the Derbyshire hills. It's a 16th century pub with a wonderfully eccentric owner and chef Jackie who fed us 'simply delicious' fare of a very high standard. A gem that should definitely feature on your itinerary - book in advance if you can. Generous proportions to revitalise... More

This pub is in the pleasant, unspoilt village of Sheen, the interior is a delight, there is a nicely country, untouched feel to it, the food is good but the service and the waiting lets it down badly. Two front of hose staff, responsible for the bar and waiting on tables, is just not good enough for a Saturday night.... More

After reading the reviews on trip advisor and in the local press we decided to try out the Sunday lunch. After arriving at the exact same time as approx 20 walkers and overhearing that the bar staff had not turned up I feared for the service we were about to experience. I could have not been further from the truth... More

What a fabulous place but how strange there were only us as diners! However 11 adults 1 child and 3 toddler types was almost enough to fill the pub, and Jackie gave us a good welcome. Beautifully cooked and served food, excellent value, good little kid meals served first. Well cooked veggies and thanks for the extra mash Jackie. And... More

We went again to the Staffordshire Knot on March 2nd. Jackie is still doing her fixed price menu which at £14.95 and £18.95 for 2 and 3 courses respectively is excellent value for money. The food is still up to her really high standards but where are all the diners? There were only 8 of us on Saturday evening which... More

Chanced upon the Staffordshire Knot in a serendipity sort of way whilst on Google maps deciding where to drive out to in the Peak District for an anniversary meal. Lovely old pub, certainly out of the way but well worth any detour. Great food, lovely ambience, smashing owner/chef. Will return

We visited on a cold February evening and found a cosy bar with roaring open fire in enormous old style fireplace. There was a menu at £15 for two courses with a choice of half a dozen varied items. We settled for roasted goats cheese followed by rack of lamb with a variety of vegetables. Unfortunately couldn't manage a dessert.

we've just had a delicious Sunday Lunch in a really attractive pub. The roast beef was delicious. It is a long time since I have tasted such prime beef, cooked rare. The barmaid was very friendly and pleasant. The meal was £9.95 each, including desert. Outstanding value. We'll be back very soon.

We stopped here for lunch after a long walk, and were given a walm welcome in this cosy country pub. I warmed my feet by the open fire while the owner, who is also the chef, prepared us a delicious lunch. There was plenty of choice on the menu including traditional pub fayre plus some decent vegetarian options, and it... More
