Lovely food in lovely surroundings

A must if you would like to savour some authentic Belgian food. Patrons are treated to diligent attentive service in an olde world ambiance. Booking is imperative.

This restaurant has a very warm, cosy atmosphere and is decorated in a very interesting style. There are a good selection of seasonal dishes, we both had game and the rabbit was excellent. The service was great and we will certainly be returning on our next visit to Ypres.

We had pre booked this restaurant on the basis of a friends recommendation. As we were a party of 16 and restaurant is fairly small we were asked to choice from 3 options for starters, mains and desserts. However limited the choices were food was excellent. The ambience is tremendous with many local artefacts and paintings on display. Restaurant was... More

Nice ambiance to the place without any glitz. Honest food and friendly staff serving it. You can spend your time looking at all the decorations and be misled into thinking its been there decades. The owners said they created it a few years ago from scratch. A little gem slightly away from the centre but only a short walk. Definitely... More

We were spoilt as this little restaurant was literally 2 minute walk from our B & B. Good food, great service, charming old restaurant.

We saw the positive reviews and weren't disappointed in our visit. Despite a busy night in town, we were able to get a table as this place is off the square. There are set menus of varying prices from €22 up, but we just chose main courses and drinks. We were still treated to an appetiser from the chef. The... More

This restaurant defines local dining in Ieper, with a selection of great traditional dishes and a relaxed atmosphere. We booked in advance to avoid disappointment and it was well-worth it. It is very handily located (a short walk from the main square) and run by a very friendly couple. We worked our way through various dishes and were all in... More

We were lucky to be in Ypres on a Saturday and had booked this restaurant on the recommendation of friends and we are so glad we did. The restaurant is known as "Grandma's Kitchen" and it was a fabulous home cooked meal and certainly one of the best we had during our time in Europe. We went after the Menin... More

Booked this restaurant having read the tripadvisor reviews. We were a group of 4 cyclists stopping one night in Ypres. Seriously one of the best restaurant meals ever, with a lovely calm, cosy atmosphere in this small but very welcoming restaurant. A few mins walk away from the over-touristified main square. Service excellent, beer was great, food choice was a... More
