Definitely not with a smile, okay it was busy but is'nt it always? Hamburgers for the kids were not properly cooked, our steak bearnaise were two big lumps of chewy meat with little sauce(one serving for two)and two 15gram servings of cress...for only €47! Super location, the rest is disappointing...

Fine restaurant in a great location with sea views. The food, service and atmosphere were classic. It was a cold evening out of season but the place was full inside and contributed to a wonderful evening.

The place to go to people watch. Huge terrace under cover and right by the beach. Menu is simple with sandwiches through to steaks. The place heaves at lunch time and early evening but the service is generally good and prompt. The same menu is available inside in a more formal environment. Prices on the high side but the entertainment... More

This was our first visit to Rubens, which is an institution in Knocke. We went with friends who have apartments in Knocke or close by, and had a wonderful evening. We were seated promptly at a nice table by a window with a view of the ocean. The atmosphere was great, we had a great server, and all our dishes... More

Brasserie Rubens has a great terrace and is the perfect place to see the world go by. Knokke is busy in August , but sitting there enjoying a Pimm's with all the trimmings brings back good memories! If you're a regular, you'll always meet somebody you known, otherwise just enjoy their excellent brasserie dishes, my favourite are the croquettes crevettes...... More

Located on a corner on the seafront, this large brasserie had a great menu, great service and a lovely atmosphere. In addition, outside is a very large, wonderful, tiled square where children can hire electric or pedal vehicles, and drive around. Amazingly, despite an abundance of skateboarders, bikes, go-karts and electric jeeps, driving wherever they wanted there were no accidents,... More

I particularly enjoyed the atmosphere in this busy restaurant with its carpet floors and the little lamps on the tables. Waiters were very friendly and did not seem stressed despite the full house (we came at 9.15pm and yet nothing seemed to be calming down). The food was really good, except the dessert. The mousse au chocolat was too sweet... More

My family has been going to the Rubens for 40 years, my grandparents first went, then my parents and now my family goes here several times every summer. Why? Simply because we love it. The food is consistently wonderful, catering to a wide variety of different tastes and styles. As a red meat lover I tend to go for the... More

The food was excellent - very good shrimps and fishes. The service was not bad either. A nice place for a good meal. Would recommend!
